This resort is a great option for families and skiers of all levels with over 100 runs of varying terrain. The ski resorts surrounding Park City, Utah are also some of the most easily accessible, only a 45-minute drive from the Salt Lake City airport. Deer Valley is also known for their excellent customer service, luxury, and fine dining. Keep in mind before you go that Deer Valley is a ski-only resort, so take your snowboards elsewhere!
2. Park City Mountain Resort

Next on our list of Utah ski resorts is Park City Mountain Resort, one of the largest ski resorts in the state and the country! This resort is large enough to have two separate bases, Park City Mountain Village and Canyons Village, each with their own runs and features. Across the whole resort, there are runs for all levels of experience, so you are sure to find some that you feel comfortable skiing, whether you’re a beginner or a pro. One of the unique elements of Park City Mountain Resort is that Park City is right at the base which offers plenty of restaurants, entertainment, and places to stay. If you’re traveling to Utah with a group, family, or a variety of ability levels, you can’t go wrong with this resort.
3. Powder Mountain Ski Resort

Powder Mountain is the largest ski resort in North America, so it obviously had to make our list of best Utah ski resorts! Keeping in mind that this includes backcountry, hike-to runs, etc. One thing that Powder Mountain is best known for is their natural snow, making it a great place for powder lovers. They also have plenty of groomed slopes, as well, if that’s where you’re more comfortable. They have a good combination of beginner, intermediate, and advanced runs, which also makes it a versatile resort for all levels. It’s one hour away from Salt Lake City and offers numerous lodging options. Plus, they offer night skiing if you prefer to venture to the slopes in the evenings, a rare addition for Utah resorts.
4. Snowbasin Resort

Snowbasin is one of the oldest Utah ski resorts and even one of the oldest in the entire US. It’s one of the best Utah ski resorts because it features runs for all levels along with three different terrain parks. Plenty of restaurants and exceptional service make this resort stand apart from the rest! It is a great option for a day trip if you live near the Salt Lake City area. Otherwise, if you’re traveling from out of state, you may need to look for accommodations in another town, since they don’t offer lodging near the base of this resort.
5. Solitude Mountain Resort

Best for: families, less crowds, powder skiing
Topping off our list of best Utah ski resorts is Solitude Mountain Resort. What makes this place so great? As the name suggests, this resort is not overly crowded and can be a great spot to visit if you’re looking to ski somewhere that has less crowds. While it is smaller than the other resorts highlighted, it is a great place for powder lovers and features a good mix of beginner, intermediate, and advanced runs. This resort on average receives some of the highest amounts in the country, with an average annual snowfall of 500”. It also offers some great spots for food and entertainment, so you can easily spend a full day there!
