The country known for kilts and golf has been hiding some snow in those mountains all these years. Scotland’s Cairngorm Mountain is hosting the Vans Dawn of the Shred slopestyle competition. It’s an equal opportunity contest, with categories for Men, Women, Junior, Junior Girl, and Youth. If you’re looking to get exotic, show up at 8:30 for registration and get your hands on some Pound Sterlings!
Colorado
The grassroots gala that is the Volcom Peanut Butter Rail Jam has skyrocketed the careers of many of today’s heavy metal hitters. This Saturday is the last chance to get a top five spot and earn a trip to Mammoth Mountain for the Championships next month. There’s always tons of giveaways and the parks always put together a solid course for the event. Head to Keystone‘s River Run Base Lodge at 9 am for registration.
California
Every winter starts at Bear Mountain in the summer, when they host their annual Hot Dawgs and Handrails event. On Saturday you can head up for a comp that’s gonna send 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place to the main event at the end of summer! The top dude also gets a free season pass to Bear for 2010-2011! Everyone who doesn’t win still gets to shred under the sun with all the SoCal bettys!
