Real Snow | Winter X Games

By Published On: January 13th, 20110 Comments

The X Games just got substantially more legit. Let us not forget, however, that this is the event that formerly featured sno-llerblade slopestyle and speed ice climbing. It’s doubtful that real street will fall into that extinct category, because much like The House…it is awesome!

Real Street consists of eight MVPs of the urban landscape duking it out with 75-second video parts of original footage. Thanks to brainchild of the event, Chris Gunnarson, the contestants truly belong here. Joe Sexton, JP Walker,
Jeremy Jones, Seth Huot, Dan Brisse, Nic Suave, Simon Chamberlain, and Louis Paradis all have amazing parts, there’s not a single one that isn’t worth watching over here at ESPN.

You even get a hand in choosing the winner! The first round of voting is head-to-head matchups that the world can vote on. The vids that survive the collective opinion of the internet go on to voting during the rest of the events by a panel of expert judges.

My vote? Wow thanks for asking! Nic Suave should end up with a golden X hanging from his neck. Watch his part above and you’ll see why. However, Louis puts up a solid fight, and some of the guys (I’m looking at you JP, Jeremy and Seth) have far superior editing. So it will be interesting to see if presentation can overcome content.

The televised and live events run January 27-30, so be sure to vote for real street before then and support real disciplines in the X Games!
