Massachusetts Skateparks: In and Out of Boston

By Published On: January 31st, 20220 Comments

Boston, Massachusetts is known for being a historical American city and that certainly rings true for its skate scene. An early adopter of skateboarding, Boston brought its own style of street skating to the scene. This influence shows up in its parks as well as its famous stores: Orchard, Concepts, and Max Hesh all hail from Massachusetts.

This list covers our favorite skate parks in Massachusetts, inside and outside of the Boston metro. We’ll cover their location, hours, cost, and what kind of features you’ll find at each park. There are certainly more skateparks that could have made this list, but we wanted to give you the best options near popular destinations!

But first…skate gear!

When it comes to skateboarding, safety is and always should be the priority. Wearing a helmet and pads is a great way to prevent injury and keep your sessions injury-free. Be sure to be smart at the park, follow safety guidelines, and make yourself aware of cultural rules that help keep skaters safe. Having the right gear for your riding style, that’s in good shape also helps!

Our Top Massachusetts Skateparks: Skateparks Inside and Outside of Boston

  1. Lynch Family Skate Park

Location: 8 Education Street, Cambridge, MA 02141

Hours: Dawn to 9pm

Best for: Vert lovers

The Lynch Family Skatepark is one of the most professional parks in all of Boston. Whether you are looking for rails, hubbas, clover bowls, or multilevel story areas, this park has the spot for you. One thing we love about this park is the way the builder’s included locals in the design. Over 400 skateboarders added their input to help design the park, as well as inline skaters and BMX riders. Round boxes, multiple quarter pipes, and steep walls are all favorites for vertical riders. Don’t miss out on the baby-bowl rounded out beyond the giant-bowl. It’s a railless perk for those looking to surf their way through the park. The theme of this park is channeling an ocean vibe, as the bowls overtake the aesthetic of this awesome ride!
