Freeskier Battles Injury to Hammer a Huge Season

Ian McIntosh is one of today’s most talented Big Mountain Freeskiers. He is fast, big, and technical. In 2011, McIntosh suffered a season ending injury while filming with Teton Gravity Research in Alaska. Due to the extent of the trauma to his femur, the 2012 season was also lost. After persistent physical therapy, McIntosh came back to slay the dragon on mountains with sheer and craggy faces, only to suffer yet another injury. This time suffering a broken ankle, the Freeskier known for his strength and burliness seemed to be breaking down. Yet like the phoenix rises from the ash, McIntosh resurrected his 2013/2014 Ski Season and laid down some of the biggest lines of his life. His technicality and extreme athleticism showcased in these lines is matched in his persistence, determination, and resilience.
