2012 Capita Charlie Slasher

This is the world best powder snowboard, says Capita Snowboards. It is the Charlie Slasher Flat Kick. This is the key to happiness. It has a lot of great Flat Kick technology for a lot of powder riding. This is a powder board and they have done it right.

The flex rating on this board is about a six and it does have the Flat Kick Pow baseline technology. From about the beginning of the nose inserts to the end of the effective edge this board is gonna be completely flat. It’s going to have a Flat Kick tail which is completely flat. It’s great for riding around in powder and above the inserts on the nose to the contact point, the board is actually going to rocker up, and then the nose is also going to be a Flat Kick. The shape of the board is actually a tapered shape. The nose is going to be a little bit more wide than the narrower tail. It’s good. If you ever have ridden powder on a twin-shaped board that is centered or a true twin board, it’s difficult to ride. This board is actually centered back. It’s tapered. The nose is going to keep you up.

The construction of the board is pretty unique. It’s got a lot of sustainable stuff inside of it, one being the RFC sustainable poplar wood core that runs from tip to tail and from rail to rail. Poplar wood is a nice smooth wood. It’s consistent and it dampens a lot of vibrations. The glass that sandwiches the RFC wood core is called a “Form 6 C Black” glass. On the top of the wood core, there’s going to be two directions of fiberglass running at 90 degrees and at zero degrees. And on the bottom of the wood core the fiberglass also runs at zero degrees and at 90 degrees. What I like most about this are some of the additives to the core and to the construction.

There are two pieces of carbon fiber that run from the tip to just a little bit past, towards the center of the board and the inserts. The carbon fiber’s going to stiffen up your nose a little bit, because the nose does rocker up quite a bit to keep your nose above the powder. Usually most boards will have a lot of wiggle and a lot of give, but with those carbon fiber beams, you’re not going to have that. A side cut radius range depends on what size you get of the Charlie Slasher from an 8.8 to a 9.53, so they’re going to be fairly large side cut radius. So even if you’re not riding in deep powder but just cursing around in the mountain you can get some nice big turns with this board right here. The base is a wax-infused rotational sintered-base so it’s going to be a little more high-maintenance but it’s going to absorb wax and it’s going to stay fast a long, long time. Again, this a Charlie Slasher, the powder deck board from Capita Snowboard with Flat Kick technology and the Pow Flat Kick Baseline tech. Check it out.
