Summer’s here but shredding isn’t quite extinct! The boys from Bonfire and Windell’s camp are gearing up for their annual Pipe To Pipe Event. Touted as the longest-running summer snowboard contest…if you don’t count my annual August strap-in and nosepress the coffee table-a-thon, the P2P always attracts a crowd of pros looking to let loose. This year, the diggers at Windell’s are promising a 150-foot pipe laden with leaden jibs for lots of lip tricks.
The best part, is that you roll on out to Hood and jump into the Am contest, and ride alongside big-timers like Bode Merrill, Jed Anderson, Desiree Melancon and the rest of the fun-lovin guys and gals from the Bonfire and Salomon teams.
After the snow-sliding stops, head to base camp for the skate comp at Windell’s concrete street section, and since we all know that snowboarders are the best skateboarders there’ll be sure to be a lot to see, especially if little Jed pushes around.
The festivities go down July 10th, and probably won’t stop until the wee hours of the 11th, so rest up and dust off the bag of tricks because entry is free and prizes are many.
