For the jibber who wants to jump the Capita Ultrafear is the board to have for 2019.  Do people really think it’s that good?  Yep, the Ultrafear is one of Capita Snowboards’ most decorated boards.  It’s won multiple SnowboarderMag Good Wood Awards, TWSnow Platinum Picks Awards, and the HCSC Authorized Awesome stamp of approval.  It’s so good we’ve actually shoved this Capita into the the Top 5 Park Boards of 2019 list.

Praise Capita Snowboards for designing the Ultrafear for being a well rounded park board, it blurs conventional lines of what’s considered a jib and jump board.  Any skill can ride it – from the beginner who’s learning to ride onto boxes to the rat who rips a 100 laps everyday after school on his local rope. The Capita Ultrafear does it’s best in the park, but can hold its own on all mountain terrain.  In a pinch the it can slash pow with a feel setback stance.

Capita‘s Freedome V1 profile shape has a slightly longer flat zone (Zero Camber) underneath and between the feet allow for straight tracking on setups and better stability at higher speeds.  When cruising firm groomers remember to keep your weight distributed over your feet, not over the nose or tail – the Ultrafear can wash at higher speeds on hard snow.  The rockered (Reverse Camber) sections on the nose and tail begin at the lateral inserts and extend to the traditional contact points and give the tips a looser feel and an excellent platform for easy presses.

As a board that takes a beating Capita has done a phenomenal job constructing the Ultrafear to be nearly indestructible.  The toughness of the board is found in the lightweight and strong kevlar fabric that is laid on the shoulders and down the sidewall. The Kevlar weave acts as body armor against the everyday battles we fight learning new tricks.  A titanal inlaid strip down the Utrafear‘s center line gives the board vibrant longitudinal pop without adding torsional stiffness.

It doesn’t take much time to get comfortable riding the 2019 Ultrafear. It has a well rounded underfoot feel that’ll let you know if you’re pushing the board to hard.  For a park ripper it’s almost impossible to beat because of the snappy pop (surprisingly poppy for having rockered tips) and it’s ability to press deep without it folding over.  The brainchilds at Capita threw an awesome graphic on it with a great price point, and voila – it’s one of the Top 5 Park Boards of 2019.  The Ultrafear is one of Capita‘s most sought after boards, if you want it, buy it as soon as you can because it’ll sell out before the snow hits for the 2018/ 2019 season.

Capita Ultrafear Snowboard Tech Insights:

FSC® Certified P2 Superlight Core:
The P2 SUPERLIGHT CORETM is an extremely lightweight and versatile core. Engineered for the ULTRAFEAR urban assault weapon and the Spring Break Twin, this wood core can withstand high impact and delivers maximum pop. The ULTRAFEAR version has a milled channel running the length of the core to accommodate a vertical Titanal beam. Comprised of an even mix of Poplar and Paulownia wood, the all new 2018/19 P2 SUPERLIGHT CORETM has been upgraded to FSC® Certification standards.

Holysheet Fiberglass:
The HOLYSHEETTM fiberglass configuration features fiber weaves with a high tensile strength and low modulus of elasticity. With a higher roving count in the same weight of glass, you can have a stronger and more responsive board without adding extra weight. Triaxial fiberglass is placed on top of the core and Biaxial fiberglass beneath, creating a perfectly blended ride while increasing strength and durability. Combine this layup with the MAGIC BEAN TM resin and one of the many additives we have available, and you get a high performing board tailored to meet your style of riding.

Kevlar/ Titanal Body Armor Laminates:
Kevlar is an organic fiber featuring high strength, toughness and thermal stability that shows no embrittlement or degra- dation at sub-zero temperatures. Applied to the shoulders of the ULTRAFEAR along with high compression strength Titanal alloy thorough the centerline, this BODY ARMORTM takes the durability and dependability of the ULTRAFEAR to the next level.

Superdrive Sintered Base:
Targeted toward versatility in a high-end sintered base, this running material strikes a unique and sought after balance between high performance and low maintenance. With an increased density polyethylene, these ultra high molecular weight sintered bases are more wax absorbent and allow longer time periods between waxing sessions. Properly maintained sintered bases are fast, durable, and are the preferred choice of pro snowboarders worldwide.
