The Knife Show at Mt. Hood

While we were out at Mt. Hood for Snowboarder Magazine’s America’s Next Top Pro Model we got to spend a little time seeing the sights in Government Camp, which is the town at the base of the mountain. The town takes less than a blink to get through, so there wasn’t a whole lot to look at, but we did however run into the guys responsible for The Knife Show. Some of their work you may be familiar with includes little gems such as Scruffy the Knife Show Dog:

They had set up shop straight out of their car right outside the High Cascade skate park selling swag like stickers, T-shirts, sweatshirts and a few other assorted things. Evidence would show later that that wast the best place in town to sell your gear as every single kid on the hill was rocking the Knife Show logo.

The guys were a little busy so we didn’t get to talk to them too in depth, but they seemed like pretty rad people. The highlight for me though was getting to meet Fuzzy the dog. Scruffy wasn’t there but Fuzzy was plenty of entertainment. They explained to us that Fuzzy gets her name on account of how much hair you’re left over with after a single pet stroke. Fuzz was flying everywhere. Apparently she takes issue with being on a leash, and she gave us a first hand lesson that it is really the size of the fight in the dog when she went to take down a dog that was four times her size.

Mike Benson is one of the main guys behind the Knife Show and the guy staring along side of Fuzzy and Scruffy in the videos is Casey Wrightsman. The Knife Show guys seem to be living pretty large out in Oregon. If you’re in the neighborhood be sure to hunt them down to see what they got and meet their dogs. Keep a fresh eye for what videos we might see from them next because their edits have been some of the most creative and well made around, in my opinion.
