Nitro Gross Out Review-2011

By Published On: January 13th, 20110 Comments

This is a Nitro Jon Cooley Gross Out Pro Series Snowboard. This directional twin-shaped snowboard is going to keep you happy even if you don’t like snowboarding. The tip and the tail are the exact same shape, but the stance is set back just a touch. The park flex rating of a 4 is going to keep that jibber and that all molten board rider very, very happy. Nitro‘s Gullwing reverse camber hammered shape is pretty unique because in between the bindings, there’s reverse camber, but underneath the bindings, there is camber. It plays very, very nicely on the snow, not like those mean kids in the sand box or those kids that are on the graphics.

The mid-wide shape is great for anyone that’s a size 10 boot or larger. So even if you do have a size 10 boot or smaller, you can still enjoy this wonderful snowboard. Nitro‘s  Combat Zone wood core is going to be virtually unbreakable, and light and soft at the same time. Tip to tail, there is poplar wood that is sandwiched by a Biax fiberglass that runs in two different directions, at 90 degrees and at 0 degrees. Causing for a very smooth and safe ride all over the mountain.

The side cut radius is a radial side cut radius that’s going to be smooth and, of course, very, very stable at any speed. So if you’re hauling ass down the hill, the radial sidecut radius is going to be very smooth in the entrance and smooth in the exit. It’s going to hold you up when you’re in the center of your turn and when you’re on the bottom of a hill cruising down to lunch, or cruising down to play Foosball, or to play the game of In Your Face, this board is going to be great for that.

Nitro‘s Hi-Def Base is going to stay fast and durable all season long, and the pro tip is going to reduce the amount of weight that this board has. The wood core has been reduced to thinner layers in the nose and the tail. So in the middle of this board there’s going to be Thicker but , as you move to the nose and the tail, it gradually tapers off getting thinner, causing for less swing weight. Great board,  Sweet graphic, one board you will enjoy taking measurements of, because it’s so interesting. That’ right, this is the Nitro Jon Cooley Gross Out Pro Series Snowboard.
