If  you live in the Midwest and have never been to Mt Bohemia, you should go. So where, and what, is Mt Bohemia?

It is located on a peninsula that jets into the middle of Lake Superior and according to MSN.com it is “One of the top ten undiscovered ski resorts in the world”.

On average they get 273 inches of snow fall a year. Match that with the most vertical drop in the Midwest and the terrain to satisfy, and you won’t be disappointed! Remember, no beginners allowed so leave your buddy “Barny” at home.

If you happen to hit it on a powder day it will be one of you best trips of you life. If you miss the good powder you’ll find that with a little hiking you can always find hidden pow stashes within the variety of terrain Mt. Bohemia offers.

Check out their Trail Map Here.

On a recent trip up there we missed the pow and found the conditions a little icy. Thankfully, I was riding my Lib Tech -Skunked Ape wide snowboard with Magne-Traction and Union Force snowboard bindings. The Board held a edge on everything from ice, trees, rocks, the dirt road  and just about whatever you come across. Magne-Tractions can be found on Lib Tech and Gnu Snwobaords – Rossignol snowboardsRossignol Magtek snowboards (which are super sick boards) and some Roxy boards.

So grab your gear and hit the road. And don’t forget your Banana because, this weekend, March 5th, is Mardi Gras Madness and women ski free on Sunday! The girl who gets the most beads wins a $1000
