Capita Mid Life Zero Review

Capita Mid Life Zero Snowboard

This is the mid-wide snowboard that actually has zero camber. It was designed by TJ Schneider both in construction and in graphic. And it also runs Flat Kick Technology. From contact point to contact point this board is going to be completely flat. There’s no camber. There’s no reverse camber. There’s zero camber, it’s just absolutely flat. TJ decided to pull the camber out this season and do zero camber to make it a little bit more forgiving in the parks. Now, from edge to edge it’s going to be smooth, it’s going to transition well, but there’s not going to be a lot of that response that you’d have or find in a cambered board. The tip to tail wood core is made out of poplar and it runs from rail to rail as well. It’s called the SS Select core. Now the SS Select core is actually sandwiched by a thing called a Form 6-CK Fiberglass, or actually K Fiberglass.

The fiberglass runs in two different directions. It runs at ninety degrees and at zero degrees on both the bottom and the top of the board. But on the bottom, what makes this board a little bit stiffer and actually gives this board a flex rating of a six.

There  are two Carbon Kevlar Beams, that run from about the outside of the insert packs to the outside of the insert packs, in between the insert pack and the rail.  So it gives it that little snap that you need to get that extra ollie oomph to get on top of that rail. Now, even though this is a mid-wide board it has a nice tight sidecut radius. The sidecut radius actually range from about a 7.5 to about a 7.7, depending on what size you get. So even though this board doesn’t have camber or reverse camber for that matter, this thing is still going to turn on a dime because of those tight sidecut radius.

The high molecular compound extruded base is going to be easy to maintain all season long. You won’t have to wax this as much as a sintered base. Of course it’s die-cut, the graphics definitely pop. The topsheet has a silk-screened multiple layer graphic that TJ did. Besides that zero camber, the board does have Capita‘s Flat Kick Technology. So the nose and the tail are going to be nice and flat. It’s going to keep you stable when you want to set up for those jibs or hit off that jump. So, this is the board that I rode a couple of seasons ago, mine’s cambered now. This is it, Capita Mid Life Zero Snowboard for that big-footed snowboarder out there.
