Snowboarder Zac Marben Had His First Art Show Over The Weekend

Art comes in many forms, for some, it’s paint on a canvas, for others its words on a mic, and for us its a performance that starts at the top lift tower and doesn’t end until the orange fences in front of the lodge. There have always been those who’ve blurred the lines though, expressing themselves through different media in different ways. Zac Marben is one of those dudes, and he earned himself his very first art show last weekend in Laguna Beach, CA.

zac marben snowboarder artistZac Marben, known best for his role on the Volcom snowboard team and his reputation for locking down enders whenever the cameras roll, but last Friday the world got see his artistic side as well. Zac’s originally from Minnesota, and he is the latest in a long line of skilled artisans to come out of the Land of Lakes. Bob Dylan got his start here, as did Prince, so we definitely have our creative credentials up here.

Marben’s show was hosted by Artists Republic For Tomorrow, AR4T. This collective spearheads the admirable efforts of giving young artists a venue in which to show off their stuff, as well as the necessary media coverage to get their name out. The gallery and Marben had the genius idea to kick off his show at the end of premiere week in Orange County, and it made a perfect way to wrap up the week. Tons of pros and industry big wigs rolled through the show, and many took home a piece of it with them.

See the show for yourself Sept. 21-24 and Sept. 28-Oct. 1, or check out the AR4T page for all the news about this and upcoming shows (like Corey Smith in November!)
