Summer Time Street Wear Trends

With every new year and every change of season come new fads that a person who likes to show a little flare in their street style needs to keep tabs on. We started noticing a few trends happening here at The House as the summer gear started flowing in, so I thought I would wrangle a few of those up and throw out a few categories for all you stylie clothes wearers.

One of the biggest crazes that has started taking over is what I like to call “tight pants syndrome” and it has already infected shredders everywhere. Many of you have probably noticed this condition slowly spreading on the slopes this winter, and now it’s reached the streets. The House is doing its part to spread the sickness around with pants like the Madix Gripper. But if you’re an all or nothing kind of person you should probably look into something more like the Chili Choker Jeans from Volcom.

Another trend that is going around are the loafer lookin shoes turned skate. What I mean is the shoes are designed with a nice mix of the two worlds and they are wicked comfortable. Take for example the Adio Cruz. It’s easy on, easy off, awesome looking and something I will for sure be rocking on my feet this summer. Or another great example would be the Roxy Piccolo. This one is custom with a fuzzy inside. The guys loafer kicks include brands like DC’s Villain, the DVS Fransisco or the Vans Sea Captain.

Coming into the summer everybody is gonna need a nice new pair of short slacks to show off those extremities that have been hidden away all winter (and are now neon white). The big way to show off those pearly whites this summer is with shorts that have taken on a dressy look. I think that includes about all but around two styles of shorts we are carrying for guys this summer. A few examples would be the Element Human shorts, the Oakley Palm or the O’Neil Triumph.

And if you’re looking to match those classy shorts with a top you can bet guys everywhere will be rocking the jersey style tank top which include looks like the Matix Lotus and the Oakley Lightning. Girls, we got it pretty easy, if you’re wearing a tank top that is a bright color, you’re in the know. Tanks like B by Burton or anything Liquid Force will get the trick done.

Last but not least, we have to mention again the dirty ’90s style that made its come back last Fall and is lookin like it will be around all through next season, plaid button ups. Ah, plaid. Lookin like you came fresh out of the thrift store straight to the party is what most guys and girls are going for this year. This look can be achieved with something like the RVCA Del Mar, or the Volcom Netherlands, or the Burton Tech or girls maybe the Burton Surrender for you. The great part about the plaid look for girls is it’s a very unisex look. So ladies go ahead and buy the guys clothes… or just dig around in your boyfriends closet.
