Nomis Softshell Jacket

This time around Simon shows us the new softshell jacket Nomis is dropping.

Now, some of you may be wondering, what’s the difference between a softshell jacket and a regular old sweat shirt? So to thoroughly answer that question I pulled a little snippet from our future informational section of The House website:

Softshell Jackets

A softshell jacket is basically a super sweatshirt. Unlike a normal sweatshirt the surface of a softshell jacket is water resistant. Some are even waterproof. Though softshell jackets are quite thin they are incredibly warm. Because of their thickness-to-warmth ratio softshell jackets make really good insulators underneath a shell jacket.

A softshell jacket is not going to have the crinkle that a nylon shell would. They are a lot more flexible, supple and lighter weight. Softshell jackets are ideal for riders that are in warmer regions and aren’t going to have as much precipitation in the spring. Some softshell jackets will even come with their own built in gloves.

A softshell jacket is going to be significantly cheaper than a regular jacket, but they are normally only worn for insulation or as a warm weather shell. Freestyle riders will be the first ones you see wearing a softshell jacket because they allow for a full range of movement.
