2009 Liquid Force Witness Wakeboard Review

This shape is the Liquid Force Witness. The Witness was a design inspired by Ben Greenwood. Ben has been with Liquid Force for quite awhile and he has had the opportunity to ride a lot of our different shapes. He wanted to take the feelings of a couple of different boards and integrate them together in this new shape. What the Witness does is it takes some of the design features that used to be inherent in the Helix, which was a really aggressive three stage rocker board, and integrates them into a more mellow, hybrid rocker that was like on the Omega.

Putting these two ideas together takes some of the twitchyness out of the radical three stage rocker that was in the Helix but gives you the solid tracking that the board had. He also combined the variable edge rail which makes the board real forgiving through the midsection; no more of that toe side eyelid peel back. It also just makes the board a more forgiving rail to rail through the midsection but getting progressively sharper as you move towards the end of the board so you get really solid hold. Through the mid-body we have the same double inside, single concave. That displaces the water and softens the landing. As this moves through the tail you get a really aggressive vee and what this vee does is it gives you extra depth on either side of the inside face of the fin. It also helps the board rock rail to rail really quickly. You end up with a board with a lot of straight up trajectory but a predictable hold; a board you are going to want to surf off of the tail. You are going to want to ride this board off of the tail because that is where all of the bite and hold is. It has fairly neutral handling through the midsection.
