How To 270 On A Rail | Every Way

If you’ve ever wanted a comprehensive tome of tricks that could win your local rail jam, here it is. Burton team rider Ethan Deiss headed up to Mammoth Mountain last spring, and apparently became so smitten with this twenty-foot down bar that he decided to unleash a whole bag of tricks on it—all eight (count ’em!) eight 270s and a few other spins for good measure. With how comfortable he is on this rail you’d think that he was a Mammoth local who’s probably been riding this feature all year, but no, he’s actually reppin’ Wisconsin’s Trollhaugen.

Some of his tricks are even in the middle of a snow storm, so take notes kids, this is how you get ’em dialed. Hiking the park like this while everyone else is riding pow or sipping hot chocolates in the lodge has put Ethan Deiss in the Burton team and earned him shots in both Burton’s Standing Sideways and the Videograss movie, Retrospective.

Good news too, Mammoth is slated for a November 10 opening, with snowmaking in full force right now and a show by The Black Lips and Ra Ra Riot to kick it all off two weeks from today!
