All right. Dave here at The House, talking about my snowboard, this is one of the snowboards I’m rocking this year that and the Lib Tech Box Scratcher. Basically, on this one, it’s a super, super cool Burton Custom V-Rocker. The new snowboard form this year, Custom’s been famous in line for many, many years. This year, they added the V-Rocker to it, making it even better for any kind of terrain ride in.
What you’re looking at here, like I said, the V-Rocker, it’s basically, they have the Rocker in between the bindings. When you press it flat, you get a full contact with the snow, with the rail you’re 50:50ing definitely my favorite way by doing the Rocker. From there, you got the Channel, are the only Rock snowboard that the Channel from here on out, combined with an EST binding, and it’s definitely the best interface going on in the market.
You have to get the EST binding if you’re looking at a snowboard of the Channel. It’s going to free up all the hard plastics underneath your foot so you’re not going to have a dead spot at the flex to the snowboard. All that material has been replaced with EVA foams so you have an increased cushion in, at the same time, better snowboard feel with no hard plastic dampening the feel. And then from there the mounting positions are on the outside, so you’re going to, while your foot is in there, be able to adjust angle, width, toe-to-heel, pretty much anything you want to do with the binding, and you do that at the top of the mountain before you go down. So, you start up at the top of the Mammoth, you’re going to shift the binding back a little bit more nose and tail, be able to go down Dave’s Run, with some ability to take up some uneven terrain. You get down to the unbound park areas, you shift it back forward twin the snowboard out, really takes advantage of the versatility of the custom snowboard.
From there, you got a slew of other features with this one. Basically, what you got is a very twin-like shape, a little bit more nose than tail in this one. But like I said, you can definitely easily twin it out or make it direct some snowboard for the pow. You got the 10:45 sidewall on this one. Starts off in a slant and then right over the edge it goes almost vertical and puts a lot of meat around the edge, so it’s going to take a lot of hits and damage from ice or from metal but then it does a sidewall at the top to reduce the overall weight.
This one does have the pressure distribution edges right underneath the bindings. You’re going to get a definitely increased edge grip, that technology does bumps out the edge a little bit. You can’t really see it with the naked eye, but instead of just having a point of contact here and here, it has one right by the bindings as well, too, so climbing icy pipe walls, riding here in Minnesota like I do. All these things, you know, definitely, it’s going to get a little better with the snowboard that has the pressure distribution edges.
From there, you’ve got really nice sintered die-cut base. This one is definitely one of their nicer bases that’s the end to all base. It has a lot of wax as it comes from the factory, that’s ready to rip for good, you know, by five times out, but it does absorb wax when you wax it, and the more you wax it, the faster it goes. Other than that, you know, it’s got the Infinite Ride process. They put into the machine that simulates three years of usage. Basically it will have the same flexibility as when you take it out of the box, as it will three years down the road.
New to the snowboard this year is the Lightning Bolts. Basically, what they’ll do is they’ll take carbon running from the track running out to the snowboard edge. So, it kind of just like their engineered grain direction does. More so, it amplifies the power from the track to the edge of the snowboard. Super, super versatile snowboard. Definitely my favorite snowboard in the Burton line. Like I said, I’m rocking this 159 that you see right here. Better get the Burton Custom V-Rocker snowboard, because with the newness of this snowboard, they’re going to go quick. Awesome, awesome shred stick.
