Alex Coleborn | Miniramp Master

Most action sports exist on two levels. There are the high-flying tricks that you see in big air contests and subsequently slapped on a 7-Eleven Slurpee cup or X Games billboard. These big tricks are great, they have that wow factor to the general public because they can understand the difficulty and danger in a big gap or a double backflip. They see this stuff and it may pique an interest in the sport, maybe that interest one day turns into a career for little Johnny or Betty and that’s how the sport survives.

The other level is what those already heavily involved in the sport enjoy— the technical wizardry that amazes even the best pros when they witness something new and creative. This is the level that has brought us Alex Coleborn today. With all the recent hoopla surrounding Jed Mildon’s amazing triple backflip, we thought it would only be fair to match it with some technical mastery. Coleburn flows around miniramps like he was born and raised on one, and his work recently earned him a spot on the Nike 6.0 UK team.

If this is your first introduction to the kid, start with this video and then get ready to spend the rest of your day sorting through all the YouTube footage of him. Then, when you’re ready to take it to the tech level, check out our BMX shop and get pedalin’.
