2011 Burton Bullet Snowboard Review

By Published On: March 5th, 201118 Comments

This is a Burton Bullet Snowboard. This is for the big-footed snowboarder. You could be a tall guy with big feet, you could be a short guy with big feet, you could be a girl with size 16 feet, this could be the board for you if you want to advance your skills to the next level.

It has a feel rating of a 2 so it’s going to be nice and soft, and it is part of the Double Chair tier of snowboards in the Burton line. It has an EZ V rocker, so on the nose and on the tail there’s going to be a slight rocker and there’s going to be V rock in the middle, making for one continuous rocker shape. It does have a directional shape, and depending on what size you get there is a 3 to 6 mm taper on the tail.

The flex is a twin flex, so the nose and the tail are going to flex basically the same. It does have the classic Burton Fly Core. Tip to tail laminate wood that runs parallel with the edges. It does also have a negative profile core. The negative profile is thicker in the middle and gradually tapers off to reduce swing weight and material in the nose and the tail.

It has Biax fiberglass. The fiberglass strands run at 0 degrees and at 90 degrees throughout the board, giving it a nice, soft, buttery feel.

It has a low-maintenance extruded base. A lot of companies out there have extruded bases, but they’re not on this level. This thing is going to be fast right out of the box, you’re not going to need to wax it as much as a sintered base, or a base that’s more porous than this.

The edges are the Cruise Control edges. So they’re a little bit more mellow. They’re not going to catch you up when you’re sliding on the snow back and forth. The Bullet does have Slantwall system as well. It’s 28 degrees Slantwalls, durable, and it’s strong.

Again this is the Burton Bullet, with the Cruise Control technology. Flex rating of a 2, it’s going to be soft. If you have big feet, this is the board for you to get to the top.”

      Hey Susan,

It depends on a few things actually, if your son has size 11+ feet and a beginner/intermediate level ability the deck will be a fun in all sorts of conditions. The Burton Bullet is a stepping stone that will help it’s rider increase skills and fun factor. The board is pretty basic, there are not very many bells and whistles.

The Burton Bullet does have some great features that should be remembered…besides it’s distinct shaping designed to accommodate riders with large feet the Bullet has Cruise Control Tuned edge which help riders from catching their edges and falling, combine that with the EZ V Rocker profile and the it’ll be the most fun a boy could have on the planet.

If your son like having fun while cruising all over the mountain he’ll have a blast on the Burton Bullet.

The Burton Bullet and the K2 WWW are designed for riders with different needs.

The Burton Bullet is designed for a beginner to low level intermediate rider who has big feet (US 11+); it’s a soft (Feel Rating 3) rockered All Mountain board for cruising and occasionally sweeping into the park.

The K2 WWW is a versatile freestyle board that focuses it’s technology on jibbing. The WWW comes in a wide option and has a flat profile shape. Most riders who are on the WWW stay in the park from open to close.

If you spend most of your time cruising the groomers choose the Burton Bullet. If you spend most of your time making laps in the park choose the K2 WWW.

Hi. I hope you can help. I am 6ft 4, size 11 and 225lbs. Can’t decide between Bullet or K2Raygun. Read really good things about the K2. I’ve been snowboarding 3 times. Can link turns but I wouldn’t say I am very confident.

I want to improve and start doing narrower turns.

    Which would you recommend ?

    Hope you can help.

    Thanks
    DEAN

Both decks are great and have very similar construction technology. The K2 Raygun will be a little more stable at high speeds because of the flat profile shape between the feet. The Raygun is just a little bit wider than the Bullet.

      I’d choose the K2 Raygun Wide 164cm.

hi, im looking at the burton bullet and want to know if its going to be a fast board. im interested in the board because its a wider board for my feet. im not really a park person but i do like to go fast and still carve down the mountain?

The blunt is not really for speed demons. The V rocker can get a little sketchy at high speeds and extruded base are not as fasts as Sintered base, Unless the boards are not waxed.

Hi am planning to buy a board tonight after work for cyber Monday for my son for Christmas. Any help would greatly be appreciated. He is a bit above an intermediate rider (he doesn’t fall much is why I say that) 17 yrs.old ; foot size 14 1/2; weight is 155 lbs. & he is 6ft.2″ tall.
He is an all mountain rider not too much park.stuck in Icier conditions typically. I know he needs a “wide board” and he is more concerned with getting the right board than the year of the board. Thanks K~

if i have 9.5 size at my boots do you think 157 wide is good for me? i can get it a t a nice price second hand.
thank you for your time replying me. (9.5 size boot, 185 cm and 94 kg)

With a size 9.5 you dont need a wide but you can ride a wide. Also at 205 lbs a 157 is a little small but it will work.

    Hello everyone,

I found this board for very good price, but my feet are 10 (41 European). Is it ok or it will not be good for me? Thanx in advance.

I’m looking into buying a board. I came across this one. I am 6’7 and weigh around 160. Would a bullet 154 be to wide for me. My shoe size is 9.5/10.5 depending on the shoe. 9.5 more than likely. I do love carving a lot though, and I switch from normal to goofy very often. Any ideas? Also, if I do decide to get it, what bindings should I get?
