4-way stretch diamond dobby boardshortsThe people at Quicksilver embrace progression and creativity no matter what that activity. This approach is a reflection of our team, who truly live in the moment. You see it in Kelly Slater’s ten World titles, Dane Reynolds free surfing exploits, Clay Marzo’s spontaneity, or even Craig Anderson’s cruising style, combined with the relentless pursuit to create the world’s best boardshorts for the world’s best surfers. Quicksilver continues to develop game changing technology while drawing inspiration from the ever-changing nature of surfing. Founded in 1969 by two Australian surfers, Alan Green and John Law, their goal was to create the best boardshorts made specifically for surfing. Their approach came from fit, function, with a creative style. So in the 70’s Quicksilver’s innovative approach to building boardshorts came with scalloped legs, contoured waistband, and double snaps, so you don’t blow those thing out.

Quicksilver developed the first stretchy boardshort, the ST Comp in the 80’s; by using Quicksilver artists Peter Webb and Simon Buttenshaw, along with that came color, polka dots, checkerboard prints, Echo Beach, punk rock, and war paint. So the 90’s saw the advent of flight satin, quick-dry material, as well as the debut of Kelly Slater and black and white; remember the star trunks. So now for 2011 Quicksilver introduces a new standard in technical boardshorts with 4-Way Stretch Diamond Dobby, all the benefits of no wrap Diamond Dobby Deluxe, in the enhanced flexibility of 4-way stretch. Some of the features of the 4-Way Stretch Diamond Dobby is the embossed diamond pattern, 30% less skin contact, which means no rash, no chafing. Other features to the 4-Way Stretch Diamond Dobby of course is the flexibility of 4-way stretch, super lightweight and also dries twice as fast as any other boardshort material. The patented Neo Fly 2.0, basically utilizing our Wet 2 technology allowing for a nice flat comfortable front-end, easy entry, no velcro or stitches to bother you. One of my favorite features to these shorts is the double up closure, allowing the nice relaxed fit when you’re cruising the beach, out in the waves won’t fall off the hips. You gotta check these out, Quicksilver, world’s best surfers, world’s best boardshorts!
