Lutzka Takes Maloof Money Cup #1

The Maloof brothers have been coming under fire lately in the sports world. According to ESPN’s sports writers the millionaire boys aren’t doing too well on finances and that’s the root of the reason they’re trying to move the Sacramento Kings to Anaheim. So to bring you up to speed they’ve got Cali’s capitol in quite an uproar about it. However, for those of you following real sports, you’d notice that the Maloof Money Cup has gone worldwide this year. The tour kicked off in New York City, and will hit Washington, D.C., Orange County and South Africa before all is said and done this year. Big props to the brothers for keeping their heads in the skate game and supporting our sport…sorry Sacramento but it looks like they just picked skateboarding over that ball sport.

Politics aside, the first stop debuted the new head-to-head format and Greg Lutzka came out on top. He pulled out of Rob Dyrdek’s Street League in order to do more contests like this one and the decision to jump the don’s ship is already paying off. Second place went to Dennis Busenitz who gave Lutzka a run for his money in the final matchup. Apologies to Ryan Decenzo and Justin Figueroa who are getting skipped but make sure you check out the whole video from ESPN so you see the wizardry of young Ryan Merlino who ended up in fifth. He’s got some real deal trickery turning heads in only his second pro contest ever. We’re expecting big things. Check out maloofmoneycup.com for details about the next stops!
