On New Year’s Eve Kevin Pearce was practicing his double corks in the halfpipe at Park City, Utah when he over rotated and took a massive blow to the head. An article from Boston.com said that Kevin hit his head just above his eye on the lip of the pipe which knocked him unconscious. He was immediately taken to the University of Utah Hospital in Salt Lake City, where doctors planned to drain fluid that was building up in his brain. Kevin’s US Olympic coach Mike Jankowski said that his injuries are serious and critical.

Kevin Pearce was one of our biggest hopes of bringing home a medal at the Vancouver Olympics and he is one of the few that can rival Shaun White. An update from snowrev.com yesterday said that Kevin’s condition is stable but is still critical. His family and friends have created a Facebook Fan Page where they will post any new news and we can all stay updated on his recovery. Any fans and well-wishers are also encouraged to send him a get well card to:

You’re in our thoughts Kevin. Here’s hoping for a quick recovery…
