K2 Slayblade Snowboard 2012

This is the K2 Slayblade snowboard and it has been slaying industry awards for three years running. It actually just won the Snowboarder’s Best of Test. It does have a two year warranty because of the BAMbooyah inside of it. The K2 Slayblade is for the rider who likes to stay in the big park, cruise at high speeds and hit jibs like no other.

Flatline Snowboards TechnologyThe K2 Slayblade has Flatline Baseline Technology, the base is 100% flat except for the nose and tail.

Harshmellow - Boards Snowboards Technology Another great feature of the K2 Slayblade is the Harshmellow dampering system underneath the bindings.  When you go huge and go over that step-up and you’re laying in the basement, and you think you’re gonna kill yourself, the dampering system of the Harshmellow is going to absorb a lot of that negative impact. Besides jumping, when you’re hauling down the hill and you hit the negative vibrations from the chunder you’re cruising over, the dampering from the Harshmellow is going to soften the ride.

Hybrilight Construction Snowboards TechnologyThe K2 Slayblade has Hybrilight technology. The construction of the Hybrilight reduces the amount of material along the rails of the snowboard, providing a nice, thin, lightweight sidewall.

The Twin Hyper Progressive shape is pretty unique. Of course, it’s twin board and the nose and tail are going to be the same shape, but Hyper Progressive sidecut radiuses are awesome. At slow speeds the mellow entrances and exits of the sidecut radiuses are going to keep you smooth; at high speeds the steep center is going to keep you stable.

Bambooyah Blend Snowboards TechnologyThe stance is set back 3/4″ and the K2 Slayblade has a W4 BAMbooyah core. There are three species of renewable wood inside this core that run from tip to tail, plus there’s bamboo that runs inside as well. The bamboo runs alongside the rails and in between the bindings.

Ollie Bar Snowboards TechnologyThere are a couple of additives as well. There’s the Carbon 2 web additive, which are carbon stringers that run from underneath the inserts to the tip and tail of the board. It also has an Ollie bar, which a carbon bar that has a cambered shape that runs in between the bindings.

The glass of course, sandwiches the wood core, and is the ICG 20 Triax glass. The Triax fiberglass fibers run in three different directions — at 45 degrees, negative 45 degrees, and at 0 degrees. The Integrated Carbon Glass, ICG 20, runs from tip to tail and gives this board a lot more snap and responsiveness.

Then the base is pretty unique on this board as well. It’s a sintered base, but K2 call it something, actually a math symbol, that means “none” or “not to have.”  This board has K2’s fastest, highest quality base.

So, the K2 Slayblade …has a 1-degree base bevel, a lot of really cool features, the Ollie bar, the carbon web, the bamboo, the Harshmellow technology…everyone seems to love it, I love it. K2 Slayblad — Slay it!
