Hot Dawgz And Hand Rails 2011

An annual rite of passage into the season, Hot Dawgz And Hand Rails, went down this weekend at Bear Mountain in Snowcal (Big Bear Lake, California). For the last 8 years the contest has served as the unofficial start of the contest season. This year Clayton Shoemaker and crew carted in 130 TONS of snow for the event. It’s innovative urban layout was a refreshing change from all the scaffolding and single rail option comps that seem to be a dime a dozen these days. Minnesnowta showed up hard and when the smoke cleared (from all the medicinal card carrying locals) Ryan Paul from Afton Alps walked away with first place and ten large ($10,000.00). Rounding off the field was Brandon Hobush in 2nd and another Land Of 10,000 Lakes rider, Jesse Paul, taking third.
