David Gonzalez at TW TF

So it’s the middle of February, and I know most of you guys and girls out there are killing it on the slopes of your local hills and in the back alleys of your snow-covered cities, but let’s not forget about those poor, poor souls in southern California who are stuck in a heat wave and all they can do to get sideways is hop on their skates and hit the streets. For you guys, here’s a little video of David Gonzalez at the Transworld Training Facility.

Gonzalez is straight out of the capital of the Colombian cartels, Medellin. Instead of becoming a drug mule, he chose skateboarding. I’m sure he would tell you that this is was a great decision, and we couldn’t agree more. Gunfire from rivals and threats from the DEA sound far less appealing than getting this cool warehouse all to yourself to skate, not to mention a spot on the coveted Flip and Volcom skate teams at only twenty years old.

The warehouse is right near the Transworld headquarters in Carlsbad, and if you can find out the locale rumor has it that they are easily bribed into letting you come on in and skate, and chances here are definitely better than at some of the other secret warehouses in LA like the Sole Tech and Berrics facilities. Personally, I’ve been eyeing up the little cement C ledge you see in the bricks a few times, but I guess it’s too amateur for the junior Gonz.
