Burton TWC Bit-O-Heaven Jacket

This is a Burton Shawn White Collection Bit O’ Heaven Jacket. It’s part of the Sig Fit Collection so it’s not excessively baggy and it’s not emo-tight either — it’s right in the middle. This jacket I’m wearing is actually a size extra-large. I’m a pretty tall guy and it fits pretty well. I wouldn’t wear this size out in the streets just hanging out with my friends but I definitely would wear this size on the snow.

Now the waterproofing and breathable material combine with multiple membranes and insulation called the DRYRIDE durashell technology. There’s 10,000 millimeters of waterproof material and 5,000 millimeters of breathable material, so if you sit on your butt a lot or if you ride in the rain a lot this is going to repel quite a bit of water but it’s also going to let you breathe quite a bit if you’re hiking around. No one likes a jacket or a pair of pants that make you sweat, so this is going to be very waterproof and very breathable.

There are a lot of cool tech features on both the inside and the outside of the jacket, we’ll go through all of them. Number one, of course, is the adjustable cuff-closure. That’s nice, depending on if you like them wide open or nice and tight. A hidden pass-pocket goes right into the sleeve, of course. These sleeves are actually going to be just a touch longer so they go over the tops of your gloves — nice as well. The contoured chafe hood has a nice fit; it’s fully adjustable so you can tighten it or loosen it. The chafe-free collar keeps my chin happy. That’s right, if you have facial hair or even if you’re starting to grow facial hair, the chafe-free collar is definitely a nice feature because no one likes when your tongue and your lips and chin get all chafed from frozen zippers and such. The chest pockets are pretty unique because you can enter them from the sides or you can enter them from the top. The side pockets where your hands usually go are actually fleece-lined and have a nice keyring. Attach your keys to these and you won’t lose them on the snow.On the inside of the jacket there’s going to be some more features. They have an internal media pocket so if your going to put your iPod in there you can definitely do that and you won’t have your wires from your headphones hanging out, because no one likes to ride around and have their earbuds ripped out because you’re having front-side air or something.

On the inside we have a Thermacore quilt-type lining. There’s 40 grams of Thermacore™ Insulation inside. Right now in the studio it’s about 72 degrees but it feels like it’s about 120 degrees. There is a powder skirt, and the powder skirt is going to be a great interface between the jacket and the pants, you can actually connect them together with Burton snowboard pants. If you’re standing on top of a mountain it’s pretty windy. Every once in a while you get that gust of wind that goes up your jacket and just chills you. With this interface you won’t have that at all. This jacket has fully taped seams which is a good thing because when companies stitch together material it doesn’t matter how waterproof the material is, if there are microscopic holes from the stitching that connect the layers of fabric, the water is going to get in those holes. So Burton has strategically taped a majority of these seams. Overall it’s a cool looking jacket, awesome color leaves. It has elastic closing on the bottom as well so if you want your jacket nice and tight you can obviously definitely do that. Again, this is the Shawn White Collection Burton Bit O’ Heaven Jacket with 10,000 millimeters of waterproof material and 5,000 millimeters of breathable material. BOOM!
