Yeah, I’m gonna need a Cheddaconda, a Red Bull slushie and oh yeah, jeez I almost forgot, you better make that Cobra Style!

If there is one phrase you need to know during your stay in Government Camp at the base of Mt. Hood, it’s that one. There honestly is no better food than a Cobra Dog after coming down off the mountain with a full day of riding in the summer sun under your belt. You and your homies can gather around the stand and reminisce the day while taking down probably the tastiest dog I’ve ever tasted. The extra tastieness of the Cobra Dog comes in part thanks to their combo of toppings they like to call “Cobra Style”. This includes cream cheese, sauerkraut and their top secret, Cobra Sauce. Sooooo good…

Of course we all have our own style and preferences, so if you’re not a sauerkraut fan a few other things you can choose off their menu include options such as:
- All Beef Boa – 100% beef dog
- Cheddaconda – Frankfurter infused with real Tillamook cheddar
- Brattlesnake Brat – German brat with a hint of black pepper
- Hot Snake Brat – German brat on the hot side
- Very Veggie – tofu based veggie dog
- assorted drinks and munchies
- toppings include jalapenos, onions, relish, cream cheese, sauerkraut, cobra sauce, etc.

Cobra Dogs was originally stared by Jesse Grandkoski, of Airblaster, and Cory Grove. Cory has since taken over the reigns of the operation and every summer he heads up to Govy to make sure the bellies of the young campers stay full with Cobra goodness. Rumor has it Cory is going to be opening up another stand in Portland some time soon. To stay updated with what’s happening there, or with Cobra Dogs in general, check in on their Cobra Blogs or you can find them on Twitter and Facebook.

Here’s another little fun fact about Cobra Dogs. Their logo was designed by Aaron Draplin, with Draplin Design Co., who was nice enough to invite Paul and I by his office while we were in Portland. It was a short and sweet little swing in and out, but in that short time we came away with some great life advice from Aaron and a load of his amazing swag he threw at us. Keep checking in because we will have more to say about Draplin, coming soon!
