There are a select few brands who have remained true to rewarding there most renowned and hard working riders with the glorious “Pro Model”. We’ve created a list of our Top 5 Pro Model Snowboards of 2019 to highlight some of these brands who have decided to let their grid iron pros cultivate and create the very boards they ride from nose to tail. We grabbed decks from Burton, Arbor, Capita, DC and Nitro that help translate what their riders need to perform the way they do on snow. Whether you’re clashing pipes and taking medals like Danny Davis or checking off NBD’s of the wacky and mind-bending like Scott Stevens, we have a pro model in this list that will fit your fancy.

2019 Burton Deep Thinker

The 2019 Burton Deep Thinker is one of two of Danny Davis’ brainchild snowboards for this season. This directional tapered shape allows this board to be forward thinking in its design to blaze the trail ahead for an all-mountain destroyer. The hybrid directional camber adds a camber zone from the tail to the front foot and then a rockered zone in the nose to help keep the tip up in deeper snow. A slightly tapered tail adds more maneuverability in deeper snow and on the corduroy as well. Burton’s Frostbite Edges add wider width zones under your bindings to help get a better grip on hardpack and icy terrain that you may run into anywhere on the mountain. The Deep Thinker is Danny’s directional shaped all mountain freestyle ATV that allows new school and old school riders to flourish all over the resort.

2019 Arbor Bryan Iguchi Pro

The 2019 Arbor Bryan Iguchi Pro was designed by true mountain G.O.A.T Bryan Iguchi. Bryan describes this deck as, “a board that works for my style of riding.. a daily quiver, or “quiver killer”.” Bryan gave this a directional twin shape for a deck that points straight but is able to be ridden switch when the moment presents itself. This deck comes in two versions, a camber and rocker version. For this particular post, we picked the cambered deck. A tapered tail helps sink this decks back end in deeper snow so the nose can remain afloat. Bryan also picked Arbor’s Double Barrel I Core LT which adds two bamboo struts from the tip to the tail for extra pop and energy throughout the deck. Arbors Grip-Tech Edge is added under the feet to provide a little more girth underfoot for stronger edge hold on the corduroys.

Often imitated but never duplicated. The 2019 Capita Scott Stevens Pro Snowboard offers a versatile and playful ride that covers a wide variety of riders and terrain. Its true twin shape gives Scott and his followers a deck that can go any which way at any given time. Capita’s Freedom V1 profile adds a zero camber zone in between the rider’s feet while adding small rockered zones in the nose and tail for a playful and loose feel edge to edge. Capita’s Cork Dampening Stabilizers all along the edge of the sidewall absorb impact and provide a smooth ride. New 2-Ply Basalt Boosters are added underfoot for extra energy and pop when snapping those ollies over rollers, berms, groms and everything in between. Finished off with Capita’s SuperDrive Sintered base which is a high end sintered base that has some structural lines throughout the base for added speed and moisture displacement.

2019 DC Media Blitz

Torstein Horgmo’s weapon of choice is the 2019 DC Media Blitz. The Media Blitz is about as big swinging as they come with a true directional shape and stiff camber profile that loads up a ton of pop, power, energy and big cahoonas. DC flex rates this deck at a 9/10 so be prepared for this board if you’re thinking of making it your stick for the season. DC’s Impact Core makes a bombproof core that is meant to withstand big landings and nuclear fallout. Polish this deck off with a high end sintered base for a fast ride that comes with frequent tuning and maintenance.

2019 Nitro X Volcom Beast

The 2019 Nitro X Volcom Beast Snowboard is the deck of influence from Marcus Kleveland and Torgeir Bergrem. Watching those two ride is like putting two hellcats in a barrel full of mice, it’s just an all-out war zone. This deck features a true twin shape for these park rats to land any way they choose for an identical performance on both sides. A true camber profile gives this board plenty of pop off the edge, upon take off and when putting the landing gear back down again. Nitro flexes this deck at an 8/10 which translates to a deck that has plenty of pop, response, and energy to build upon but will lack some playfulness if you are not used to a stiffer deck. Nitro’s Powercore II is a poplar wood core with added beech wood stringers that flow through the tip and tail. Throw this deck on top of Nitro’s Sintered Speed Formula II Damast Base for a fast ride and you’ve got a true all-terrain battle destroyer.
