The mysterious men behind the green curtain of Videograss. Ashbury's Lance Hakker, Videograss' filmer and producer Justin Meyer and Holden's Mikey LeBlanc.
Ladies and gentlemen, the bar has been set.
The crew over at Videograss came on hard and strong early in the game with last night’s world premier of Bon Voyage!, setting the standard high for the 2010 snowboard flick line-up.
By now you should have seen the teaser, provided below for your convenience (in case you missed it or wish to put on replay, like we did about twenty times in a row), so you know that this movie has been building hype for about a month now.
Choosing Portland as the kick-off city could have been a risky maneuver, since about 70% of the industry is milking it at Hood and one bad review or less than impressed shredder could have started a string of rumors or even better, a hipster riot, but bold moves often earn big rewards. The movie turned out to be so popular that it sold out both showings and the crew was forced to add a third showing so that everyone who wanted to see it could. In fact, during the third showing Mikey LeBlanc actually had to ask the pro’s who were in the movie to leave the theater so there were enough seats for the fans who hadn’t seen it yet. (Awkward? Just a little.)
Without giving away too much here are some reasons you should add Bon Voyage to your shred-porn repertoire this season:
- Jed Anderson’s part.
- Brutal slams followed immediately up by gratuitous landings.
- Satiate your thirst for hipsters, tight-pants and long-hair.
- Balance that out with Videograss’ token-gangster Justin Bennee’s part.
- Jed Anderson’s part.
- Creative intro-graphics.
- French Canadians that slay it.
- The very last shot of the entire movie. (No, I will not tell you who or what it is, go see the movie)
- Jed Anderson’s part.
- Mike LeBlanc’s humor and his shared part with LNP.
- The old dude in the overalls and his narration.

As usual, job well done by the genius behind Videograss. Big up’s to Ashbury, Holden and all the other sponsor’s that are keeping the dream alive with annual productions like this one, and of course to all the riders in the movie who forgo the use of their knees in the later years of their life for our entertainment.
Check out the next premier of Bon Voyage! in Salt Lake City, August 19th at the Olympus Hills Bowling Alleyway.
