Forum Vacation World Premiere

The state of snowboard videos is getting intense. We’ve mastered the follow cam, filmed from helicopters and planes, and next year I heard that Travis Rice is going to use the Hubble Telescope to film his part entirely on the moon. With things getting so serious, the Forum fellas decided that maybe this would be a good time for a Vacation, and they were right.
Forum Snowboards premiered their new movie, Vacation, last night on the sandy shores next to the Huntington Beach Pier. The film is far from serious, but that doesn’t mean that the riding isn’t the real deal. In fact, this has kind of become Forum’s niche, filming envelope-pushing tricks every year but presenting them in a fun way.

Forum Vacation Premiere

Autographs for Everyone!

Now, I won’t play grade-school bully and spoil this movie for you. You can (and should) get it soon enough on DVD or iTunes, and I’m sure that the other trashy publications will play Daily News and get you gossiping by giving away the tricks, but not here. They said they finished editing the thing three hours before the premiere though, so it might take a few days to get it onto iTunes.
I will give you a couple hints though. Vacation keeps up the themes of the season like: doing tricks in the streets that used to be meant for backcountry booters, and the idea that you can no longer simply jump onto a rail from the top of the stairs—you want a real part? You have to jump over something, under something, or tap something around you on your way to the trick. Kind of like Inception– a trick, inside of a trick, inside of a trick.
Vacation is basically the anti-thesis of Art of Flight, so if you can only get one video this year, the bottom line is that Vacation has the bangers, but AoF has the beauty. Vacation features part from Pat Moore, Jake Welch, Andreas Wiig, Nic Sauvé, Stevie Bell (crowd favorite at the premiere), Daniel Ek, Cameron Pierce, Niko Cioffi, Austen Sweetin, and Alek Oestreng, who introduced himself to the masses with my favorite trick in the video.
