Lib Tech Sk8 Banana Snowboard
The OG of all OG park snowboards is back for it’s 10 year anniversary. If you are part of a terrain park crew and one of you doesn’t own the Lib-Tech Skate Banana Snowboard, you are probably not true park rats. With Lib’s classic BTX rocker profile, you can glide easily, lock in on rails and press this board into a near sandwich thanks to the super soft, forgiving flex. Beginner park riders love this board too thanks to the soft flex and how easy it is to maneuver. Other tech to note is the true twin shape that allows you to ride switch with ease. Cap it off with Magnetraction to offer extra grip which makes up for what you lose with a rocker profile and the sintered base keeps you cruising at top speed at all times. 10 years in the game and still one of the greats, join the celebration and pick up your own Lib Tech Skate Banana.
Never Summer Funslinger Snowboard
The Never Summer Funslinger Snowboard is here to party. This wild park ride is back for another season of freestyle domination and general “life of the party” kind of riding. This Asym board features a deeper heelside cut for easy switch riding and a powerful heel edge, Carbon VXR Laminate technology for a snappy response, Boost Flex wood core for additional launching power and the FDS Dampening system for cushion when stomping big landings. The low profile tip and tail reduce swing weight for spins and reduce drag on the occasional deeper day, while the Durasurf Sintered base offers a low-maintenance, high-speed ride. Available in regular and wide (X = wide). Hand out fun like candy on Halloween this winter with help from the Never Summer Funslinger.
Capita Ultrafear Snowboard
The king of urban shred and every park rippers dream board is the one and only Capita Ultrafear Snowboard. Seen in countless video parts and one of the most infamous jib boards on the market, the Ultrafear got a few upgrades for winter 2017 making it even better. Some of the key tech that makes this board so rad includes the P2 Superlight Core that offers impact resistance, Kevlar / Titanal Body Armor that adds a ton of strength and durability, Dynaweave Fiberglass featuring a brand new plant based EVO resin for a much more nature-friendly construction and the new wax-infused Enduro Base that will keep you hauling ass at all times. Full ABS sidewalls and 360 degree steel edges add even more impact protection so you can hit the urban scene knowing full well your board will survive the session. Zero camber for pop and precision to reverse camber at the nose and tail for easy presses tops off some of the key features that make this board so awesome. For all your urban / park / jib needs, the only board you need is the Capita Ultrafear.
Burton Name Dropper Snowboard
When the Burton Name Dropper Snowboard hit the park scene a few years ago, riders everywhere were blown away by the insane flex that Burton was able to achieve. A few years into the game and a few tweaks later, the 2017 version is better than ever. The true twin flat top shape is super skatey, and Triax fiberglass loads the board up with pop betraying it’s thin profile. Filet-O-Flex reduces the board to most thin construction they can for the ultimate bend and the sintered base keeps you cooking so you can get up that kicker or onto that rail at top speed. Whether it’s urban shred or a day at the park, the Name Dropper will get it done with more flex than you ever knew was possible.
Interior Plain Project Harrow Snowboard
If Midwest shredders know anything, it’s what it takes to build a proper park board. The crew at the Interior Plain Project has definitely built us a gem with their Harrow Snowboard. This true twin board is loaded up with pop thanks to the triax / biax glass combo, giving the rider a super responsive and snappy board without being too stiff or catchy. Two centered carbon stringers running from the inserts to the tip and tail add extra power for launching off kickers, while the sintered base ensures you are always moving at top speed. Worried about trying out this “smaller” company? Maybe it will make you feel better knowing they are being built at the Capita Mothership. Support a smaller brand that is doing big things when it comes to tech and shape when you pick up the Interior Plain Project Harrow.
Burton Lipstick Snowboard
One of our favorite female-specific park snowboards is the super playful freestyle assassin known as the Burton Lip Stick Snowboard. Perfect for the lady who enjoys treating the entire mountain like a personal terrain park, the tech and features that are included in this board make it super fun on jumps, jibs and anything else you can find to play on. With a true twin shape, super-skatey flat top profile and Triax fiberglass, the Lip Stick is loaded with pop and and power making it fun in the park and an overall very lively board to ride. The Sintered WFO base is on of Burton’s fastest bases, so you know they didn’t cut any corners. This tech and other features like Frostbite Edges and Infinite Ride technology only add to the overall awesome factor of this sweet ride. Get ready to have one of your best seasons yet when you pick up a Burton Lipstick.
Capita Space Metal Fantasy Snowboard
A killer women’s park board that we are super hyped about for winter ’17 is the Capita Space Metal Fantasy Snowboard. With flat camber through the middle, then reverse camber all the way out to the tip and tail, the Space Metal Fantasy offers amazing flex and allows you to press and butter all day long. The RFC Sustainable core is lightweight and super poppy. Construction including the Form 6 fiberglass adds a ton of snap and is combined with a plant-based EVO resin which is way better for the environment. On the bottom, the HMC extruded base is easy to maintain and super durable so it can handle the wear and tear of park life or the occasional urban slam. For switch riders, the true twin shape is versatile and lets you ride either way with ease. Plus, the jelly fish graphic is one of our favorites of this season. For any lady shredder that is a fan of park riding, you can’t go wrong with the Capita Space Metal Fantasy.
Never Summer Onyx Snowboard
When the Never Summer Onyx Snowboard first came out, we hadn’t been that excited about a new board in years. We are still just as hyped on it after a few years on the scene. This freestyle powerhouse from the crew at Never Summer blew minds when the “big mountain” brand jumped into the park game and played it oh so well. Lady park rippers all over have fallen in love with the responsive flex and playful feel of this killer board. An Original Rocker Camber profile offers the perfect balance between flex and responsiveness. The low profile tip and tail for reduces swing weight to toss those 5’s a little faster and the FDS Dampening System absorbs the shock of stomping big landings. They may be known for big mountain shredding but the crew at Never Summer has absolutely crushed the park game when they came out with the Never Summer Onyx.
We hope this list has you scoping out your local mountain and praying for snow. Or possibly stalking your local urban spots and doing the same :). See you in the park!
