Reef Sandals is one of the most popular sandal companies in the world. Argentine brothers Fernando and Santiago Aguerre created the brand in 1984. They were avid local surfers, owning a shop in Argentina, but eventually moved to San Diego, CA where Reef would take off.
Starting with only $4,000, they set out to produce the best active wear sandals. With some savy marketing ideas, the brothers began to attract the surf community. In the mid 90’s Reef had grown considerably, even branching into the skate and snow industry.
