Rainbow Sandals was established in 1974 by Jay ‘Sparky’ Longley in Laguna Beach, CA. Longley got the idea to start making sandals when he would see broken sandals littering the beach. He decided why not make a superior sandal that would last a long time, as well as be comfortable.
Longley first starting producing the sandals in his home before relocating to San Clemente, CA in 1975. Rainbow Sandals were originally only sold in California before popular demand has now made it world wide company, selling high quality leather, hemp and rubber sandals. They have also branched into producing a casual footwear line.
Rainbow sandals is active in the beach lifestyle and sponsors multiple events, including the stand up paddle (SUP) annual event, “Battle of the Paddle”, held in Hawaii and Southern California.
