Everyone’s favorite holiday has once again come and gone and we hope that you all had as much fun as we did on Go Skateboarding Day. The Windward crew headed up to Wilson Skatepark for a day of BBQ’n, giveaways and of course, skateboarding.
What started out as a rainy, overcast day, quickly cleared up and ended up being a sunny, hot, beautiful afternoon. We fired up the grill and by the end of the day probably made a hundred burgers and dogs for the local skaters.
We wasted no time getting started on the giveaways. The ‘tricks for gear’ and head to head S.K.A.T.E. battles almost left everyone with a prize in hand. Big thanks to Omit, Kr3w, Vans, DC, Spy, Wellborn and Skullcandy for hooking us up with such awesome giveaways. We also had our sweet Windward Go Skate Day tees to hand out so we made sure nobody left empty handed.

It’s time again for the annual drop everything and go skateboard day! Call in sick, feed your pets and head over to Wilson skate park right off Lake Shore Drive in Chicago to join us for Go Skateboarding Day 2012 Chicago.
This year we are changing it up a bit and announcing our brand new skate complete packages starting at $89 and lower prices on most of our skateboarding gear. On top of that, we are going to help you get in to some new digs before the big day. Stop in to the shop any time between June 18-21st and get 10% off any and all skate gear.
On June 21st, just like last year, we’ll be out in full effect with free food, drinks and shred. Plus, in true Windward fashion, you might just walk away with some new gear…just saying.
