After a rough start to the 2012-2013 winter season our local Chicagoland snowboard resort, Four Lakes, was finally able to produce enough snow to open on Dec 26. The place was packed with shoulder to shoulder people on the tow rope. Everyone was itching to snowboard or ski after a long break and myself + crew were ready to get out and get first tracks on build 1 of the Four Lakes winter 2013 park.

building the four lakes’ park

The most recent build you’ll see here in the video was set up to include a triple drop box, handrail, flat rail and up-flat box. Because of the limited runs open, space was crucial and we needed to clear room for the lesson programs in the morning. The Four Lakes’ park crew and myself had the task of pulling out the features at the end of the day and putting them in back the next day.

the future of the four lakes park

At the time the 5″ base eliminated the possibility of any kickers. In the near future the park will be moved over to a much larger run #4 giving us some more space and a double tow rope. This move will most likely start January 7 or January 8. After that point, there should be park rebuilds every week to keep it fresh for the riders.

video edit of the four lakes weekend

Our first full weekend was filmed by a variety of Four Lakes locals and edited by Max Bednarski. Riders include Max Bednarski, Trevor Speranske, Alec Shaw, Harland Guy, Brandon Swanson, Jack Tobin, and Mike Bogdal. The song credit goes out to Mase, “Welcome Back”. Enjoy.
