The History of Reef Sandals

Reef Sandals is one of the most popular sandal companies in the world. Argentine brothers Fernando and Santiago Aguerre created the brand in 1984. They were avid local surfers, owning a shop in Argentina, but eventually moved to San Diego, CA where Reef would take off.

Starting with only $4,000, they set out to produce the best active wear sandals. With some savy marketing ideas, the brothers began to attract the surf community. In the mid 90’s Reef had grown considerably, even branching into the skate and snow industry.

Now Reef is one of the leading brands in the world, with full lines of footwear and apparel for men, women and kids. A core surf company that produces quality products for an active lifestyle and has a fine selection of models at the same time.

The snow, skate, sup industry has always been something I've surrounded myself with. I absolutely love the community that comes with it, how it embodies action sports, fashion, music and having a good time all in one.
