If you’ve been skateboarding for any length of time in the city of Chicago, there’s a high chance you know a guy named Reggie Destin. Reggie has been a staple in the Chicago skateboarding community and beyond since the early 1990’s. Reggie worked for Windward many years ago, went on to open his own shop called Push, worked with Girl and Chocolate skateboards, owned his own deck company, Affiliate Skateboards and now works with brands like Remind Insoles and Heel Bruise Clothing. His love and passion for skateboarding, and this city we call home, is second to none. He is a mentor to many, including myself. He has an ability to motivate people, has the drive to make big things happen and is overall one of the most kind people we have ever met.
On October 19th, while skateboarding home that night, Reggie was hit by a drunk driver and taken to the hospital in critical condition. He remains there today, still fighting to recover. A close friend of Reggie’s set up a Go Fund Me account to assist Reggie with all the hospital costs that go along with an injury as serious as his. We ask that you take a moment out of your day and a few dollars out of your account to support a man who has supported Chicago’s skateboarding community since day one. Every single contribution will make a difference and please know that any amount you can give is appreciated.
Thank you from the entire Windward crew and help us wish our good friend a speedy recovery.
