I want to give this jacket 5 stars. Let’s start with the good; you will get compliments everywhere you go. It’s form fitting so you don’t look like a cardboard box. I found it warm enough for a Canadian winter. Volcom customer service is very good. Now for the cons; I owned this jacket for less than a month when the entire right sleeve began pilling. It looked as though i had worn and washed it for 5 years. I own 2 other Volcom jackets so I know this isn’t normal. They sent me a brand new jacket (yay). It has been about 3 weeks and I can already see that it’s going to do the same thing.
This Jacket is light and warm. The color is fantastic and I constant'y get compliments on it. The online photo doesn't do justice to the iridescent finish. It's like the coat is constantly changing color.
Read reviews and hesitated to buy but liked the cut and especially the length so decided to take a chance. We snowboard Wolf Creek so frequently in epic-knee-deep powder. I purchased both the coper and leopard jackets and have to say so far the negative Velcro reviews are irrelevant to my use. Being said I was raised to take picky care of purchases so normally would not allow velcro to remain open to pick the fabric. Non issue for me. I like to layer and not feel bound so ordered a large to go over the girls and the jackets fit the way I like my clothing to hang and to size expectations. Overall PLEASED with the coats, quality and price. Would most def purchase Volcom again.
I love love love this coat. But it is not made for women with hips. I love how long it is and it is both functional and fashionable. It does have a 2 way zipper which is nice and I can unzip the bottom a little to make it fit better.
I absolutely love this jacket! It's warm and offers great technical features. I'm 5'7\ and curvy and a Medium fit perfectly. The only drawback I found with this jacket is the unexpected pilling on areas of my jacket after wearing it for less than 3 months. "
This jacket is super high quality and warm. My only complaint is it seems to run a little small and is pretty snug to my body is read of being a little roomy
It's a great coat! My only complaint is that the right sleeve catches on the velcro by the main zipper, especially while I'm sitting down, which has caused significant pilling even after only having the jacket a week or so. However, I do love all the pockets, the roomy hood, the leopard lining, and the pit zips. It's really warm, too, considering how lightweight it is.
I bought this as a ski jacket. It is warm, has plenty of perfect inside and outside pockets, and is a GREAT COLOR. However, I’m a skier, and this runs a little long. And, if I wanted to wear it on a cold day around town - the length would be far too long and look a little odd. I’m 5’6”, 185 and wear a size L typically, but ordered an XL because I know Volcom runs small. It’s definitely the right fit around my bust, my waist, and my arms - so it’s not too big. Great tailored shape as well.
Great fit & look for long & lean builds, decent warmth
I'm 5'9", 155 lbs with an athletic/slim build and find that the medium fits great. Despite being a skiier, with my long torso, I definitely appreciate the longer snowboard jacket style - my long arms appreciate the extra long sleeves too. The waist is slightly tailored/tapered and makes for a flattering silhouette - for the light feel of the jacket, however, I find that the jacket has a heavier look than the warmth the jacket actually provides. That being said, it has been pretty brisk out here in northern NE with a higher humidity level than usual, and I have yet to wear the jacket on the slopes. And there is certainly room for layering without looking big/baggy. I appreciate that it's a jacket I can wear on and off the slopes, too. The merlot color is very pretty. The velcro along the main zipper line is abrasive, as other reviewers have mentioned, but as long as you don't wear the jacket open and rub your right arm against the velcro, it isn't an issue. Overall, I'm pleased with my purchase. Not exceptional, but a solid jacket.
Super cute styling and very flattering cut! Ultimately though it was returned as seeming like it would not be warm enough for Michigan winters on campus
I returned my purchase. I wasn't buying the jacket for snowboard/ski use, but I imagine if you had more layers underneath it would be more comfortable. The armpit zippers are very stiff and uncomfortable and the sleeves ran very long. The overall style of the jacket was very attractive and the body fit well and looked good!
