Osiris skate shoes are known for their innovations in "technical footwear", more commonly the D3. Osiris contacted pro skater Dave Mayhew to design his own skate shoe. The end result was the D3. It started as a slow seller, but when Osiris began liquidating their surplus, the D3's popularity increased. The second version of the shoe, Osiris D3 2001, proved to be very popular. Osiris then released a smaller, lighter, less bulky version called the D3 NTX. Other notorieties are the creation of the first ever Mobil Audio unit, the "G-BAG." The company was founded in 1996 by Tony Chen, Tony Magnusson, Brian Reid, Doug Weston and Laura Kim. Together, they created Osiris because they saw a void in the skateboard industry for pro designed and endorsed footwear.
