Himalayan softshell
This jacket has literally saved my life. I have bought two of them and for good reason. Returning home one night I encountered a death wobble on my motorcycle while traveling about 70 mph. I was thrown from my bike and tumbled across the freeway narrowly avoiding death. Upon impact my shoulder exploded, or did it? The jacket in all its glory only allowed a minor break in my clavicle. My helmet had come off during the chaos but no matter, the jacket shielded me with its hood again allowing only minor fractures in my face and skull. Even after sacrificing itself for me the jacket is still wearable. The himalaya jacket sustained a small tear on the cuff and slight abrasions on the shoulder and left arm. Indeed the best article of clothing I have ever owned.

Picture doesn't do it justice!
Looks much nicer in person. In CO you could wear just this for most days on the slopes.

Pretty nice overall...
The jacket is well made and definitely water resistant. Fit is roomy so I sized down to a Medium ( I typically wear a L in hoodies, and L or a M in some jackets depending on the fit)... I personally like my jackets to fit to my frame rather than have excess fabric in the body or sleeves which is why I sized down... a medium seems to fit perfectly, I believe if i ordered a L it would have just looked silly and too big.

The only thing Im not a huge fan of with this jacket is the hood size. Its MASSIVE. I guess thats great if your using this as a spring jacket on the hill and need to wear a helmet, which is possibly why its so large? ...but it just looks ridiculous when you put it on.. way too big... but the jacket itself is awesome and worth every penny.

Hi All, newbie here. If one person is 35 chest (151 pounds - 5' 11) would you advise a medium? And, if one person is 43 chest (210 pounds 5'10 - athletic build - do you advise a large?

Yes, without knowing your sleeve lengths, the height of each of you tells me the Medium and Large are good sizes to make sure it's long enough in the sleeves and body. This jacket is a True Fit so it's not "slim" and it's not "baggy".
Hey Im a size Large in most hoodies, but most Burton jackets (which is what I purchase usually) I generally fit a Medium better since I dont like the extra bagginess... Does this jacket run big?... or is it really true to size??

BEST ANSWER: The Sessions Himalaya has a slightly larger than average fit.
