The next step from the 2s
I wore the x ultra mid areo 2 to do the Appalachian trail in 2017 I went through 3 pairs and found then to be great boota. The 3s seem just as great. I'm hoping the issue of the lace hooks material breaking after wet and dry conditions(after about 300 miles up North has been reenforced.i wear mine daily to hike around Colorado lately and will be putting them to the test I. Yellowstone National Park for 6 months

My Review for X ULTRA MID 3 AERO - vintage kaki
I've loved the X ULTRA Mid AERO shoes since they first came out. The Gen 3 is even more comfortable and has excellent support. I wear these for every day as well as work. I work for Dept of the Army as an instructor where I’m on my feet in a field environment sometimes up to 18 hours a day. I usually, only wear the GTX version on colder wet days. I love these shoes! That said, I was extremely disappointed in the color. The vintage kaki is the only color option. When I opened the box and they were almost white. Two days of work in the field took care of that. Like I said I work around soldiers, but don’t exactly dress like them. However, I do need to maintain a professional appearance. I just wish they were a more traditional brown color like My Quest 4D in Absolute Brown. I guess I’ll break out the Brown Leather dye.

Bottom Line up front is yes I will wear these and would recommend them to people I know.

Great Summer Boot
I bought the AERO's about 4 months ago, I have a pair of the GTX for about 3 years but are hot during summer months. The AERO's are great for hiking in a hot summer climate. Typical Salomon features, great durability, awesome support and you can stay in them all day. If I could improve one thing I would add the Salomon speed lacing to these boots!

Excellent all around shoe!
Excellent shoe, mountain climber, hill taker, trail blazer, and door kicker. It's my favorite shoe to rock. It is nice and light for what it is and breathes extremely well. I have a sweaty feet problem but not in these. I've been tearing up dirt and clay in these for about 2 or 3 months. I've worn them for probably about 20-25 miles so far and I've worn them hard and put them away wet and dirty. They look outstanding as well, even after some long, hard days. This was my first purchase with Salomon but it will not be my last. I'm going to order some running/low cut hiking shoes like I got for the wife. Wife loves hers and I've always wanted a pair anyways.

Another top footwear product
Excellent hiking shoe for summer excursions - stable, grippy, super comfortable and supportive. My feet just do not fatigue in these. Only thing I would tweek is the top lace eyelet - they can hook on each other if you walk with your feet close together.

Good summer boot with 1 flaw
This is a superb summer boot that dries quickly. Good for ultralight trekking if you don't like a shoe on long descents. The only fault is the top lace 'lug' that sticks out and can catch on the other boot leading to a trip. I got mine altered to a closed loop version that does not catch. If Salomon sorted that, it would be perfect.
