Off to an excellent start!
I have 20+ miles in the shoe over past two days. I'm 6'2" 205lbs. This shoe is the shoe for the bigger (or wider foot runner, maybe not the FKT guys... but the guys who still go out and log the long miles day in day out. It is smooth and has exceptional traction wet or dry. Even though it is billed as the "ultra" shoe, I found in the first run that it inspired confidence and somehow made me way faster? I love this shoe so far.

I have watched my faster peers and heroes wear the SLab Sense 1-6 over the years and marveled at how the trail seems so much smoother when they run it. I understand now. It is the awesome outsole! Zero poke-throughs and has unbelievable confidence inspiring traction wet, dry, sand, rock, moss.. You name it, it rocks on it. Until now all of the Salomon's had been just far to narrow for me. I would almost call this fit "traditional." As advertised, this shoe has a wider toebox but the lacing system tightens efficiently, well past any other shoe I have ever ran in.
If you are looking for a smooth protective everyday go to and get the miles done shoe, this is it. It even slabs okish too!?!
Perfect color choices for me too!

A Quick Addendum To My First Review
Wanted to add to my earlier review. Got the shoes out for the first time today. Took them on a six mile run in the Sierra's. I have to say I am really impressed with this shoe. I set the laces and never had to tighten or loosen them. They even accommodated my feet as they swelled. I took them on Granite, scree, roots, mud and a fire road. A perfect balance of cushion with amazing agility and grip. Absolutely my go to shoe now. Highly recommend it.

Go short, go long. She gets 'er done
The Ultra Pro is a great option for any distance run. Firm and light enough for some giddyup and go, and enough cush to go the distance. The upper conforms around my foot and feels secure on the ups and bombing the downs

150 mile report. Mostly great. One really bad.
So the shoe IS plain faster for me, but, Salomon.. We have a problem. After the double digits hit my right foot is ready for more.. All day. Any terrain. My left arch on the other "hand" seems to disagree with the front "wing." This causes consistent a hot spot and has ended with blistering. I've tried sock changes, bandaid placement, duct tape, lacing tight, lacing loose and have not come up with a winning combo. As you can see, my right foot loves this shoe and wants my left foot to agree. I absolutely love the color and the ride of this shoe. The toe box is wide and comfy! The sole bombs down hill and maintains a soft ride the entire run. Unfortunately, the single front wing on the arch of the left shoe is going to knock these out of the "Best running shoe ever" for me. Honestly, I still love the shoes, other than the hot spot (just the one) I have zero issues and have found that even recovery is faster in this shoe!

Great Fit/Awesome Design
Just got my pair in the mail today. I do have a pair of S Lab Ultra's but wanted to try this shoe. I like the "pro" last like I have in my SpeedCross Pro 2s. The fit is amazing. A wider toe box than the Ultra for toe splay but you can really lock your foot in. Cushion seems great. Love the new lacing system (like the S Lab Ultra. Home Run Salomon!

Disclaimer: these were gifted to me.
First the Wings, these make a very good shoe great. Your mid-foot is locked in without feeling constrained in the least bit. That locked in mid-foot really shows its design on the downhills which keeps your toes from sliding to ends and offers fantastic support on rocky and uneven terrain. The ride is exceptional, making transitions quick and precise, it's very smooth, and leaves you feeling fresh after long runs. Toe room is very generous, the grip is excellent, and the fit and feel is every bit Salomon from the moment you slide your foot in. This is a lot of shoe for its weight. For a person who really likes more minimal shoes the Ultra Pro's are going to get a lot of time from me. It's just a "Fun" shoe to be in

I've been checking these guys out at Gazelle Sports. Got myself a pair and did my first run in them last Tuesday. I think this shoe will be a hit for our area of trails with no limit for trails and mountain runs. I felt scure on the downhills with the foot wrap "wings" that held the foot in place. Ride was smooth and responsive to terrain changes with good support.

Works well at any distance
I have roughly 100 miles down on these shoes thus far. They are holding up incredibly well.

I did a 20 mile run this past weekend and they felt amazing. It was pouring rain, yet I didn't feel weighted down with the shoes being soaked. They wick water very easily. Part of the run was on road, and even then the shoes felt great. Would recommend to anyone going for short or long distance.
