This bike has become my everyday rider. I use my Montana for all occasions. I have never felt more confident riding single track as I do on these fat wheels. Not only that, but I can ride it all year with the benefits of full suspension even in the snow, no need for my stump jumper. I am however upgrading to the 27.5X3.8 carbon tubeless setup with the Dt350 hubs, which will rocket this bike to the next level. The fox transfer dropper post is amazing and has worked fine in all temps. I also opted to go with the Manitou Mastodon for its rigidity and its built for cold weather use. This bike is worth the cash, and I am interested to see future models from Framed.

Better than I thought
Bike was smooth and forgiving on a paved surface, and was a dominant force in the dirt. I am excited to be able to ride through winter snow and spring slop.... year round riding!

Why did you go with the 177mm rear end when the Alaskans have the 197mm rear end? I'd like to have a spare wheelset that fits both bikes. Do you plan to ever offer this in the 197mm rear wheel?
A shopper on Jul 31, 2017
I passed your question to the good people over at Framed. Framed says: "Thanks for the question! We chose to use a 177mm rear spacing because it creates a more responsive feel on the trail. There are no plans to produce this bike using a 197mm rear spacing."
Will you ever offer this in a frame size larger than 19"? I'd really like to see a 21" offering. Thanks
A shopper on Jul 31, 2017
Framed Bikes does not currently have a 21" size of this bike in production. Thank you for your feedback, and I passed it along to the Framed guys.
What is the rider weight limit for these bikes ? thanks
DEREK G on Sep 4, 2017
I just spoke to the Framed peeps, and they say the user ceiling for the Montana is just shy of 300lbs.... say 290lbs for safe operation.
What is the bottom bracket diameter/size and is it threaded?
harvenator on Jun 22, 2018
It will be a 100mm Raceface bottom bracket. It is threaded.
Have a good one!
The paper catalog says this bike has a 197 thru axle in the rear and I have been told by live chat that this bike takes up to 5" tires. I need the 197 for the wheel sets I already own and for snow the 45Nrth 4.8 studs are my choice. What's the truth?

BEST ANSWER: Good Morning,
Thank You for posting this question. I spoke to the Framed guys, and they state: "That is incorrect. The Framed Montana uses a 177mm rear thru-axle not a 197mm. The Montana can take up to a 4.6 tire no problem.... any bigger and it will rub the frame in corners." We will be updating and clarifying this information this morning. Thanks!
What is the bottom bracket width?
A shopper on Nov 25, 2017
100mm width Bottom Bracket on the Framed Montana
will it fit 5 inch wide tires?
harvenator on Oct 28, 2017
No, according the the Framed people the widest tire that will fit a Montana is: 4.25"
Hi. If they decide to make a 21" full suspension fat bike, let me know. I'll purchase one the day they become available. They're finally here, just too small?
Gabes on Sep 30, 2017
I will be happy to pass your note to the Framed guys. Thanks for the post.
Can a remote dropper post be internally cabled through ?
Do you have a suggestions on a dropper post ?
DEREK G on Sep 5, 2017
BEST ANSWER: A: Yes. A dropper post can be installed and internally routed on the Montana. Our suggestion for a dropper post would be the Fast Ace Dropper seat post with 100mm travel.
