Description: Framed Minnesota 3.0 XWT Fat Bike w/ Carbon Fork

The Framed Minnesota 3.0 symbolizes the pinnacle of evolution of the Minnesota fat bike series.  Adopting the best features from its earlier brethren, the Minnesota 1.0 and 2.0, the 3.0 combines the affordability Framed Bikes is known for with the most desirable fat bike attributes. The Minnesota 3.0 is the most capable and advanced bike in the Minnesota line.  This bike utilizes a cross country mountain biking geometry to put the rider in a position to achieve the most leverage and power over the bike while keeping a comfortable position.  Front 150mm and rear 190mm hub spacing offers the versatility to run up to 4.8" tires while also providing a strong and stable platform to increase power transfer and control.

The Minnesota 3.0 frame has a tapered headtube, which serves multiple purposes.  First and foremost, the tapered head tube provides a wider steering base which improves control, cornering ability, and overall power transfer. Pressure and force is more evenly distributed using a larger base for the head tube-fork interface.  Second, the tapered head tube allows the rider to upgrade to the latest and greatest forks on the market, including the Framed Carbon fork, Lauf Carbonara, RST Renegade, and Rockshox Bluto.  The control aspects combined with the ability to run multiple fork options makes this Minnesota the obvious trail-slaying fat bike choice.

This ground pounder starts with a 6061 oversized Aluminum alloy frame set for high intensity riding, but yet light enough to maintain pin-point maneuverability.  The Minnesota 3.0 has an upgraded SRAM X7 2x10 drivetrain for even more range and climbing ability as well as stopping power from Avid BB7 mechanical disc brakes with 160mm rotors.  The hubs and bottom bracket are sealed for a clean dependable roll.  Traction is brought to you by the Framed Minnesota 4" 120 tpi folding bead tires with lightweight tubes.  The result of this great combo is a true, take-it-anywhere, do-anything fat bike that won't break your piggy bank!

XWT - Extra Wide Tires: Super-size your Minnesota by adding this wide tire upgrade for minimal cost.  This version features massive 26 x 4.7" Vee Rubber BULLDOZER tires. Ride these XL skins at low pressure for insane traction and unsurpassed float over snow and sand. The XWT is designed to go far deeper into the unknown than standard fat bikes. Pedal through prehistoric-like environments with a Minnesota 3.0 XWT.

MN 3.0 XWT with Carbon fork: Complete your dream fat bike build with the FRAMED Exclusive EFBe Approved Alaskan carbon fork. Carbon Forks are lighter and stiffer, giving your ride an incredible feel. It passed the most rigorous third-party testing out there, EFBe testing in Germany (2/3 of all bikes they test fail). Thus, giving you one of the strongest carbon forks on the market and a full alloy fork for you to choose from for different rides and conditions.

Why did you choose this? Store
All the features I have been looking for and at least $4-500 cheaper. Perhaps more! Cannot wait to take it on a 3-4 year test ride. Thanks.

why is the white version $100 more?
A shopper on Jul 8, 2015
That is because it is a mistake from Framed. All sizes and colors of the MN 3.0 XWT with Carbon Fork should be the lower $1349.95 price. Thanks for catching that... the page got combined with another.
Where are the Minnesota fat bikes manufactured?
Steve T on Jan 10, 2016
Framed operates a manufacturing facility in Taiwan and in China. The parts are manufactured there, and the bikes are then assembled and tuned back here in St. Paul, MN.
How much does the Minnesota 3.0 with carbon fork weigh?
Jhonny D on Jun 30, 2015
BEST ANSWER: 31lbs 12oz
Can you ride the xwt tires on pavement?
A shopper on Dec 31, 2015
BEST ANSWER: Yes, you can ride it on pavement but if the tire pressure is on the low end (like it would be for snow or soft dirt) the bike will want to "self-steer" a bit. Doesn't hurt anything but just feels strange. (Minnesota 3.0 XWT)
Can the Minnesota 3.0 xwt be converted to a 1x11 with the current wheelset?
Dan C on Jan 2, 2017
BEST ANSWER: The current wheel set on the 3.0 if you want to go to a 1x11 will need to use a shimano XT cassette or you can use a SRAM NX 11 speed cassette. Sram X1 and Sram GX are not compatible with the current wheel.
What is the price on these? One of the Q&As below indicates the $1.179.95 is a type and that it's $1,345.95.
Fay B on Oct 5, 2016
Sorry to be confusing... the prices have changed. The current price is: $1179.95 as shown.
Help me with the sizing of the 3.0. I am 6 ft tall with a 32 inch inseam. The ideal size according to your charts is 19" but the bike comes in 18 or 20. Which size would be best for me?
Jerry B on Oct 1, 2016
Given the information you've provided I would recommend the 20" size. Sorry for the confusion you experienced with our sizing charts. We will repair that.
Why did you just raise the price from $999? I was gonna order.
Hardsnap on Sep 15, 2016
I double checked with our bike shop and Framed. No one sees that we raised the price on this bike. Are you totally sure you were looking at this exact model?
Can this be set up in with either the black rims or the white rims?
A shopper on Aug 2, 2016
Currently the MN 3.0 bikes come only as shown on the webpage here. If you chat with our bike shop they may be able to help you out: 1 (800) 409-7669
does this bike come with fat tires?
Katharine D on May 21, 2016
BEST ANSWER: Good Day Kathrine,
This version of the MN 3.0, The XWT, will actually come with 'extra wide tires.' The standard Minnesota series bikes come with the 26" x 4" tires which are indeed fat tires. This XWT comes with the Bulldozer 26" x 4.7" tires which will be quite fat!
I'm a 5'4" female so according to your chart, that's an XS. Is that the same as 16"?
Pam G on Feb 10, 2016
I spoke to our bike shop and the Framed Bike guys. You could ride a 16" 3.0, but it will not be perfectly ideal. Both suggest that a 15" bike frame will be best for you. They suggest that the 2.0 Women's specific version will offer better geometry for you: If you were looking for a tapered head tube and the upgrades of the 3.0.... Framed makes a Minnesota 2.2 Women's bike: The 2.2 is no longer available online, but you could order one by phone: 1 (800) 409-7669 through us.
What about the Wolftrax series, off shore? I couldn't find much info House's web site? Framed is showing MSRP price, will this be the pricing at The House
Steve T on Jan 12, 2016
I checked with the Framed guys and the Wolftrax series of fat-bikes is offered exclusively to their dealers... no online retailers. Inquire with Framed directly: or 612-326-7841 or 1-866-956-5971.
Can I order a shorter crank length?
A shopper on Oct 28, 2015
I spoke to one of our peeps that works with Framed, and he said that if you call in your order you could probably get a 170mm crank on it. 1 (800) 409-7669
What is XWT?
A shopper on Jul 30, 2015

The XWT stands for extra wide tires on the Minnesota 3.0. The XWT model has 4.7 in Vee Bulldozer 120 TPI tires vs the 4 in Framed Minnesota Fat Tire 120 TPI with ultralight casing.
