Description: Framed Minnesota 1.0 Fat Bike

The Minnesota 1.0 took the cycling world by storm when it first came out close to 5 years ago. Now in it's third generation the Minnesota 1.0 is still kicking it, and taking names. Nothing gets old about this bike's SRAM X4 1x9 drivetrain. The precision shifting 1:1 actuation ratio makes every shift crisp and accurate, the way you intended. X4 is highlighted by intelligent material selection which yields a serviceable component group built to keep you riding for miles. The MN 1.0 also provides the stopping power of the Avid BB5 disc brake system. This brake system is a mainstay in the Minnesota line and holds its own whether keeping you safe during your winter commute or keeping you on the trail at your Tuesday night group ride. The 170mm rear and 135mm front quick release spacing makes life simple by allowing for simple tire and tube changes. All these awesome parts are attached to the star of the show, the Framed 6061 aluminum alloy frame and fork. Ready to handle anything you can throw at it and more, this bike will soon be your top horse in the stable. Saddle up and hit the trail on the all new 2017 Minnesota 1.0.

Very fun and smooth ride!
This was a super fun ride! It was super smooth on the road and I could get through anything off road. I went on a ride with people who weren't riding fat bikes and they couldn't keep up! It is super fun to have a bigger bike than everyone else cause you just feel superior to all the small bikes. I would totally recommend this is you haven't tried it!

Would I be able to switch out this bike's fork with the Bluto suspension fork?
A shopper on Dec 6, 2016
No... the 1.0 utilizes a straight head-tube. The suspension forks currently available require a tapered head tube. Look here: has a tapered head tube.
Can you put any type of suspension fork on this bike???
Allen on Jan 29, 2018
Framed Bikes does not recommend using a suspension fork on the Minnesota 1.0. This bike does not have a tapered head tube which excludes it from compatibility with most suspension forks on the market. There are a few out there however, and if you want more details please have a chat with our bike shop: 1 (800) 409-7669.
What is the weight limit of the riders if any?
Jerry on Dec 14, 2017
Framed Bikes states that their fatbikes have a max user weight right at 300lbs.
What is the difference between a 1.0 and a 2.0 bike? Also is it better to go bigger in size or smaller 17 vs 16 if you're in-between ?
Carla Y on Oct 22, 2017
BEST ANSWER: There's a lot of differences.

Lets start with the geometry - The toptube, seat tube, head tube angle, seat tube angle, BB drop, chainstay length, for length, fork offset/ rake, wheelbase, reach, and standover height are all different.

The conponents are vastly different as well - The gear ratio, crank set, shifters, and front/ rear derailleur are different as well.

Over all the biggest difference between the 2.0 and 1.0 is that the 2.0 has more gear options.
do bikes come ready to go built or somewhat built so to speak?
A shopper on Dec 22, 2016
All of Framed's Fatbikes will arrive about 3/4th assembled. The final assembly, though not overly tough, should be done by a certified bike mechanic. All of your components will need alignment (as is the nature of shipping) and you will want it done right.
