Happy customer!
Super happy with this bike! I was able to configure it to my desired stem and crank arm length, and bar width. Customer service is top-notch! Received the bike fully tuned. Install seat/seat post, handlebars and your pedals and you're ready to ride within 15 minutes. No shifter or brake adjustments needed. I got a 27.5+ wheel set with the Lauf fork and it's a blast to ride. May become my favorite bike - I've got a few. A cx, 2 mtn bikes, road bike, and a commuter bike, which is currently my favorite bike. This may change after I get to ride it on the Mtn bike trails!

Solid Bike at A Great Price!
It’s pretty hard to explain how happy I am with this bike. There’s a lot of layers of goodness in this package. Before digging in I should mention I’ve been racing/riding for over 30 years and owned pricey bikes from big name manufacturers like Specialized, Felt, Cannondale. I’ve done dozens of century events and successfully complete Ironman Wisconsin in 2017.

I bought the Framed Marquette 29er (adventure version) with the drop handlebars and Lauf fork to race ultra gravel events. I’ve never been happy buying preconfigured bikes in the past and was surprised when I learned I could customize the specs on the wheels, tires, and brakes. I live about 90 miles from the shop so I drove up to pick the bike up about a week after placing my order.

I’m 6’5” and had concerns about the large size frame really fitting me. The guys at the shop were great in swapping out different length stems and playing with the seat position to get me dialed in. It only takes owning one bike that doesn’t fit you to really appreciate a good fit. The large definitely nailed it for me.

I took it out for a maden twenty-one mile ride today with some buddies here in southern Minnesota in mid-December. The road served up lots of gravel, hard packed snow, a little mud and ice. I’m running 2.25 WTB tires tubeless. I set the tires at 30 pounds of pressure not knowing how much snow or ice I might be riding in. Pretty supple with lots of traction.

Handling of the bike is really relaxed, no squirreliness when riding one handed to grab a water bottle. The Lauf fork soaked up minor chatter from the gravel like I was riding smooth pavement. A few patches of washboard gravel pushed the fork past it’s abilities. It still felt solid and easily controlled but noticeably bobbing of the groves in the road. I also felt some bobbing when climbing while standing, but again not really distracting or hard to control. These are minor niggles compared to the fork’s benefits. Compared to fluid suspension forks the Luaf’s edge is it works in any temperature and requires zero maintenance.

The wheelbase on this bike is long and the fork rake is relaxed which makes this a very stable and comfortable. We climbed about 1000 feet on gravel roads and the back wheel held on solidly (while sitting). I had a little soft snow slippage when standing, but had no problem controlling it while returning to the saddle. The wonderful 32 tooth front ring paired with the 42 rear gives fantastic torque essentially eliminating the need to stand should the footing be loose. On the other end of the gear combinations I was spinning out at around 110 RPM and around 23 miles per hour (plenty fast for me). Your mileage may vary depending on the size of wheel and tire which all impacts the outer diameter of the wheel.

This is essentially a drop bar mountain bike not a road bike. The chain stays are long so don’t expect super acceleration. With that said, I felt that the bottom bracket is super solid and power transfer to the back wheel was very good.

After an 90 minutes of riding some bumpy roads in cold and windy conditions I still felt great and not beat up. That says a lot.

Just a few more likes: Fit and finish seem really good. The carbon, paint, and decals look top notch. The frame has a super glossy finish which exposes imperfections. I found none. The flair and shallow drop on the handlebars is just right. It makes them much more useable and comfortable. Everything about the bike seems rock solid.

I did opt for the WTB Frequency i25 rims which will accommodate a 42mm - 62mm tire. This provides an ideal range of tire widths for the variety of conditions I’ll ride.

It’s stretch to come up with gripe against the Marquette. With that said, I’m not a big fan of Frames logo / typeface. It just looks clunky. And it’s on the head tube, stem, and both sides of the handlebars. There are remedies to this. And, it may not bother you. Framed makes a great product and deserve recognition, but it’s just a little much to me.

I’d have no reservations in recommending the Marquette to anyone interested in this style of bike. I’m looking forward to the season ahead with a great bike.

Tough and fun bike
Like driving my Jeep to the kite launch on the beach in South Padre or snowy lake in MN, this bike plowed through everything I put in front of it- gravel, packed sand, deep sand, grass, big rocks, log piles, sticks, roots, mud, water. Handlebar width was comfortable and I was able to maneuver through the trees on the single track without trouble. My feet stayed on the pedals when I needed them to. I found easy acceleration on flats – street, gravel, and dirt. The 27+ sized tires offered extra flotation through the deep sand and rough terrain and a ton of traction. The Framed Marquette Carbon 27.5+ is a lightweight, agile trail bike offering stability, comfort, and confidence. The ride is smooth, nimble, and fun.

Great bike for cycling in the Natural State
My wife and I are extremely pleased with our Gravel Bikes. We live on a dirt road and have been able to cycle out directly from our house on some of our adventures. Many of the paved roads are fairly underdeveloped and rough, so this makes the bikes a great option for us. We we also pleasantly surprised at how fast and smoothly they ran on regular blacktop. Last weekend we were in Little Rock and rode from the North LR airport to downtown on a bike path that went from grass to gravel to near jungle to blacktop and the bikes did great. We can't wait to ride the Katy Trail in Missouri or the Creeper Trail in Virginia. I was a bit skeptical about the Lauf fork initially, but it is an extremely well constructed product and dampens very well. I would consider myself sold on it. I would highly recommend this bike and the fork to anyone wanting a versatile bike to take pretty much anywhere except maybe where a true mountain bike is needed (tight singletrack with lots of turns).

A True Functional Advanced Rider Hybrid.
I have had this bike for a month but today was my first serious ride. This has to be the most universal bike i've ever been on. My first bikeshop bike was a Giant Roam hybrid, which I found to be a compromise on everything that it wasn't good for much more than riding with the kids. This is not that bike. The gear ratio is definitely MTB and I'm not so advanced that I would ditch the full suspension for this but if you are Kudos to you if you are. I'm thinking prairie and Fire roads and some endurance trails. Slap on some gravel tires and you are set. Street, good to go. I believe the bike will even accommodate 3 inch tires. The geometry of this bike is outstanding for me. No out of shape first ride should be this easy. The bike came from the House perfectly tuned and the mechanical/hydraulic brakes are nearly as responsive as my Shimono full hydraulics. Pavement to gravel to dirt to roots to pavement transitions are effortlessly.

"This is a true advanced rider hybrid" If I could only keep one bike, this would be it.

Let the Adventure begin!
This bike does it all - on the roads it gets me to the single track trails, and once there it is amazing off-road. I often take off just for the pleasure of riding and I explore new routes. Sometimes that puts me on pavement, sometimes on Jeep roads and sometimes on deer trails.

My bike has 1x11 gearing which has me spinning out and tucking at about 25mph. I sometimes wish for higher gears when I am on the paved roads, but having the low low gears off road is more important to me.

I find that I love the Lauf fork both on and off pavement. On pavement it lets me ignore surface imperfections. Off road it feels like a FAT tire but without the extra weight.

I think of my Marquette Carbon Adventure as being the ideal Summer compliment to my FAT Bike.

Solid Bike!
A gorgeous carbon-fiber frame, respectable specs and components, and a fair price tag make the Framed Marquette bike a solid choice for riders looking to dabble in the world of plus-size mountain bikes. The hardtail, plus-size 27.5 mountain bike is the best value we’ve seen in its category, which is no surprise to us. The Framed Marquette’s biggest asset is its great-looking frame, with sweeping seat-stays and a massive bottom-bracket. The bottom line is that although we don’t love hard-tail plus-bikes, at $1,700 this one is the best value we’ve seen. Ride it about anywhere and this bike will abide.

What is the carbon spec for the Framed Marquette Carbon Adventure Rival bike?
TRAVIS G on Aug 3, 2016
BEST ANSWER: Hi Travis,
From Framed: "The carbon layup is unidirectional. It is a mid to high mod grade to maximize both strength and damping. If a true 'high-mod' carbon was used the bike would've been too rigid going over obstacles, gravel, and loose terrain."
