Key Features of Framed Pro-X 29+ 3.0 F150/R197 HG Wheel Set:
I have been riding this wheelset for a few months and have rocked them on flowy machined/bermed trail, technical singletrack, and power style 2 tracks and they are very fast. I have been pleasantly surprized with the Framed tires also. They have worked in all conditions and excel in hardpack. Very low rolling resistance and shed mud well. I have found the side knobs to hold up in high speed corners. I have weighed the tires at 955g. The wheels would not setup tubeless for me but I did replace the tubes with some 29er lightweight tubes and got the weight down to roughly 2600g front and 2900g rear- with rotors and SRAM 11sp casette. I alternate between these and my 80mm fatbike wheels and love the options. If you're looking to ride your Alaskan or any other 150/197mm bike year round, consider these as a GREAT option!
I bought this wheel set to give my KHS 5000 fat bike some more flexibility. I couldn't be happier with the purchase.I have roughly 300 miles on the wheel set, mainly on hard packed single track but recently (last 50 miles) I've been using them instead of my fat tires (4.6") on hard packed snow and was amazed the how much faster they were in addition to how well they handled! Highly recommend this set if you what to have a high performance swiss army knife of a fat bike.
Solid wheel set!! My Alaskan alloy is now a better 29+ than it ever was as a fat bike, and it was a good fat bike. I paired this wheel set with a Rockshox Bluto. The wider geometry of the frame, fork and hubs gives these wheels tons of extra stability. It has all the point and shoot characteristics of a fat bike with a lot more rolling speed. I am confident in saying that this marriage will never end in divorce. One bike for thick and thin, till death do us part.
Have used this wheelset extensively for rail trails, bikepacking, and trail riding and they have not dissapointed. Use them on a framed carbon alaskan and ride it all year ..
I liked these right out of the box, but have not yet ridden them. I have seen a fair share of wheels come and go though. The wheels are not terribly heavy, and the wheel build seemed OK. Dish was centered. The spoke angle on the fat hubs makes them look indestructible. I am questioning the spoke tension, but that remains to be seen. Mine were drilled for Schraeder valves, not presta, but the included Innova "lightweight"(?) tubes (380g each - they are 1.5mm thick) have a small feature that fits perfectly. Other lighter presta tubes might require an adapter to avoid cutting the stem. Freehub engagement felt pretty close and positive - not a lot of backlash. Chronicle tires are A-OK. Even the rim strips are pretty decent. These will be tough to make tubeless by any means (as advertised) - the rims are very deep. The hubs fit the frame perfectly fine and the axles were adjusted with no play. Compared to fatbike wheels they feel really light. Compared to 29er wheels they don't feel too heavy. I will come back and review more after I ride them.
I bought these wheels for my Trek Farley EX8, I love it "fat" but also wanted to be able to switch to something more nimble, these wheels are the perfect solution. I could not ask for more from a customer service perspective, fast and friendly service. Will definitely do business with the "House" again!
I bought a Framed Alaskan Carbon Fat Bike last year and absolutely love it. I ride on the local mountain bike trails here in South Florida. Mountain biking in SoFla you ask? Look up Markham Park, Oleta State Park, Amelia Earhart Park and Virginia Key... but I digress. I was looking through The-House.com and saw this wheelset. I had ridden a friend’s 29’r and it was a different ride altogether. I checked to make sure they would fit my Bluto fork and was assured they would… so I went ahead and ordered them. George and the rest of the Customer Service team at the House and Framed Bikes made sure the wheels got shipped out. I received them on a Friday and they were on the bike Friday night. I rode Saturday morning and it was such a different experience. I love the 4” tires I have ridden for the last year, they kinda steer themselves. These wheels require more work but you feel like you are part of the trail not just riding over it. It is like I got a new bike for $400 but I need to learn how to ride it now.
* I gained some BB clearance so pedal strikes have gone away
* There is still some cushion in the tires so you’re not feeling every root and rock
* You have to put a little more weight on the front wheel which is new
I can’t think of a better and more cost effective upgrade for your Fattie than this wheelset. Don’t wait… don’t ponder just order them! I would give it 6 stars!
for the money, this is an awesome addition to almost any fatbike. I just threw a bluto on my fat bike and these went right on, transforming it into a bikepacking machine. I just finished the Kokopelli trail (150 miles, 14000ft ) and they still spin straight.

The-House.com Store
I know my fatbike will fit almost any tires. Since I wanted to try 29+ without buying a whole new bike, this seemed like a good option. Having decent tires included, + a 5% discount code put me over the edge. The fact that they are not tubeless-ready is a slight put-off, but I might be able to get them to work tubeless anyway so I took the plunge. I am now set up to try 29x3.0-3.25, and 26x4.0-4.8. We'll see how they hold up.

BEST ANSWER:Hi! Thanks for the questions..... and answers! I checked with the Framed guys, and they do intend to offer a 29+ wheel-set in the future for the 1.0 and 2.0 bikes. They do not intend to offer a 27.5 wheel-set for the 1.0 and 2.0 bikes anytime soon.

Joe, you would have to check what the spacing on the frame is. Framed offers both a 150/197 29 plus set which fits the carbon alaskan, and also a 150/190 29 plus set which may fit the frame you are inquiring about...
Ryan, thank you. The Framed 2.0 has the following specs (Front Hub: 135mm Quick Release Axle, Rear Hub: 170mm, Quick Release Axle). It doesn't appear that either wheel set will fit this frame.
With those frame dimensions, neither would fit. I have used the 29plus set for my carbon alaskan all over the midwest, and have been very happy with quality. Hopefully they will offer something in the near future for your frame. Good luck..
BEST ANSWER:I realize the description does not match the picture exactly, but in December I received the 29x3 Maxxis Chronicles and tubes with the wheels. They are great tires. Maybe ask The House what's in stock? House?

Yes. Totally sick deal. Not super light wheels but super strong. I rode them all last year, the tires wear surprisingly well and never needed to true them. And I m 6'2" and 240lbs riding a fully ridgid bike.
Hi! This wheelset will indeed come with the Maxxis tires shown in the image. I will have our bike shop review this webpage as Jay suggests there might be some inconsistencies. Thanks everyone!
BEST ANSWER:Dont know if 2.3 would stretch out to much. Defeats the purpose of plus. Just by regular 29er rims if thzt is what u want to do. 50mm rim would most likely stretch the profile of 2.3 tire to much and not work well at all

Will this fit on the SE F@R 2015 17" bike? I know it wont initially fit on the front but I plan on switching the fork with a Bluto so I'm just concerned about the back tire.

BEST ANSWER:Hi, This wheel set will not fit on that bike as this is set up for a bike using a 197x12mm rear thru axle system.
BEST ANSWER:Hi Craig, Actually our bike shop could build some up for you. You will need to speak to them directly however: 1 (800) 409-7669. Ask for Blake.

Just want to make sure if this fits the Framed Alaskan Carbon. The hub sizewill fit (F150/R197) but the diameter, do you think the frame has enough clearance?
BEST ANSWER:Hi Zach, From Framed: "That all depends on the model of El Oso you have. The El Oso was recently sold at varying quality points, at which some used a 135/170 quick release hub spacing while other higher quality models used a 150/197 thru axle hub spacing. These wheels are compatible with 150/197 thru axle hub spacing."
