Definitely recommend!
If a fat bike is your only trail bike, buying this wheel set is a no brainer. I am a veteran roadie, but fairly new to mountain biking. After two brutal winters in Ohio, which was killing my skinny tire road bike riding, I had to do something. (riding on a trainer is pointless to me) Last winter, I got a Framed Alaskan (carbon) and was instantly hooked... both snow and trails. With winter approaching, I started out looking for an extra set of wheels so that swapping a snow set up would be quick and painless. Living in central Ohio, we could get barely any snow, or bombed with snow... although this year, it looks like no snow. :-( When I saw this set up... brilliant! I can run a more nibble set up for trails and and use the stock wheel set for snow. I had been looking at getting a 27.5 mountain bike, but not now. So glad I bought these... they are fantastic for narrow and curvy single track, but still give a cush ride and take on roots, rocks and logs with ease. I was surprised by how much control I have had in loose gravel/rock on a steep decline.

If you are trying to decide between the 27.5+ and the 29+, talk to the guys/gals at Framed. I am 5'5" and 125lbs. I ride a 15 frame, with a bluto fork and the 27.5+ is perfect. Great control, traction and overall ride. Buy 'em!

Turns the fat bike into a cross country bike on steriods, easier to move than the 26×4" set up, and still rolls over everything, easy to climb with and absorbs rocky descents.

Are these compatible with the 3.0?
Eric F on Feb 19, 2017
This wheelset is compatible with the Minnesota 3.0 ONLY if quick release end caps are installed. Please call 1-866-956-5971 to place your order to ensure the wheels are properly configured for your bike.
What is the diameter of this wheel set with the tire inflated?
A shopper on Sep 12, 2016
BEST ANSWER: I don't know the actual diameter but there is plenty of clearance on my fatbike with a Bluto fork. I could run a much bigger tire than this 3" and still have plenty of clearance. I worried about this also when I ordered but now that the wheels are here and mounted my worries seem laughable. If you typically run a 26 x 4.5 or 26 x 4.8 tire these wheels and tires will clear with miles of extra room. Now that I have them I realize I could use a 29er plus wheelset easily. This is simply an awesome wheelset at this price. Besides if they don't fit you can return them. Buy em!
Can you run smaller than 3.0 tires with these wheels?
A shopper on Oct 5, 2018
BEST ANSWER: These are wide rims. down to 2.8 inch tires i am sure it would work. Not sure you could go lower - i have not tried it.

Warranty-what is it?
Jake R on Oct 19, 2018
The warranty period on all Framed wheels is 1 year. This warranty does not cover wear and tear or the tires/tubes; it only covers the rims, spokes, and hubs. If you have a warranty issue, I recommend filling out the warranty form: and our warranty team will get back to you as soon as possible!
I just bought a 2016 rocky mountain-30 blizzard and it came with the pub hub framed Minnesota wheel set. I was expecting the stock wheel set with 4.7 wide tires . My question is , can I go wider on these rims , how wide and will any brand fit ? Deal was to good to turn down but I'm not buying a whole new wheel set . I have a great x country bike for summer . I want a winter beater
Steve F on Sep 22, 2018
A 3.0" tire is the biggest that will fit on this 27.5 plus wheelset. If you wanted to run wider tires, you would have to do a 27.5 fat wheelset, which we do not currently have in stock on the site. However, we do have one rim that will fir 27.5 x 4. You would have to call in and ask for our bike department to order these wheels.
Do you have a rear hub with 170 spacing option for this wheel set?
Keith J on Sep 24, 2017
I spoke to Framed: No. But if you call Framed Bikes at 866-956-5971 they may be able to build a custom option for you.
