Fuji Jari 1.5 Gravel Bike Ride, Palmetto Trail, FMNF, SC
I've been riding the Palmetto Trail and forrest service roads in the Francis Marion National Forrest (SC) for a few years on a hardtail mountain bike.... rode in a couple "gravel fondo" events on a mountain bike last year, wanted to try a solid, inexpensive, gravel bike. The "Bicycling" review sealed the deal for me and "The House" price was right. Now with a haff dozen rides, 150 miles, I'm very pleased with the purchase, fit and ride comfort. As advertized, as expected.

A true gravel, bikepacking, touring setup with oprions noone else if offering.
Love this bike. For the money it CAN NOT be beat. Bike feels a bit long for a 56. More like a 57 but measure a true 56.. I am just about 5'11 and i put an 80 stem on and some bars with 20mm less reach and 15mm rise but i like a high bar and more upright and compact feel. The 1x is cool but if you plan on touring the 46/30 version on the 1.7and 1.3 is an amazing offering. Almost no one is doing real adventure gearing at ANY price or offering front rack mounts. They all do 50/34 gearing and maybe a fender only mount, unless you spend thousands. I love the 1.5 but honestly i should have saved 200 and gone for more gears as i want to do some touring on this. Its my Florida bike so i am not worried. If the 1.7 came with Spyre brakes like my 1.5 i probably would have gone with the 2x just so i have a bigger big gear and a lower low. And tighter gaps on gearing. For an aluminum frame it is pretty plush and the rack mounts on the fork are awesome. FuJI nailed it on geometry and options on this. A TRUE gravel adventure bike you can load up with tons of gear. At 22lbs for under a grand....wow. my 3 thousand dollar lynsky weighs about the same and i had to spend hundred to spwap out the 50/34 105 for a 46/30 crankset for touring low gearing. I got a cheap carbon seatpost on the Jari to add a little more cush for my tush and it helped soften the ride further The Alloy frame is not harsh at all but not as plush as carbon or Titanium, but noticeably plusher than some of my othher but busting alloy rigs. I think the curved seatstays help. If i fit some 42mm tires on it, it should be buuuuuttttteeeeerrrrr.
